Can't remove credit card online.

MS support is never open here in Ireland so hopefully I can get help here. Literally every time I call no matter what time of day, they are always closed. lol

I had EA Access when it started and I was automatically paying €3.99 a month. Every month the fee came out on the 2nd. I checked my statement and my Xbox purchases and they all say the 2nd of each month. The last time they took it out for EA Access was on December
2nd.

Now, my credit card is maxed. I received an email from MS saying that they were unable to take the fee for EA Access and that was around the 19th of December. I guess they were taking it out for January.

I went online and cancelled auto-renew so it wouldn't continue on in January. I got an email confirming it. I paid for December and I had EA Access in Dec. I cancelled it for Jan and it is now gone. So far all is *** dorey.

I went online to remove that credit card and it says I cannot remove it until the fee that is due for it is paid. There is no fee. My Xbox LIVE membership is paid up to April 24th. I have been on LIVE for almost 8 years and I have always used pre-paid cards
so I didn't use that credit card for renewal. Auto renew has been turned of for years. I also never use that card for purchases as I always use store bought vouchers.

How do I remove this old card? I have since added a second one. I cannot call MS because I'm not sure they even have a customer support here anymore. I rang the UK number, but they couldn't help me due to me being in a different region.

To remove your card you need to turn off auto-renewal if it is on. If that fails you will need to call xbox support.

@Wikkiwild1 - according to what I've seen on other threads turning off auto renewal doesn't work online. He will have to contact support anyway.

 

Hmmm. Well this is definitely a problem. Have you tried contacting Support Live Chat, usually they can do things like this, but without the need for telephone support. Also, have you tried tweeting Xbox Support to see what they suggest?

It seems unfair that Ireland Xbox Support is never open...

 

Thanks for that. I totally forgot about live chat as I have never used it. The lady was super friendly and removed it in like 5 minutes. Thanks Medium Bloke.
