Can't remove a follower. Blocking doesn't work.

Hi, I have one player I no longer wish to play with but I can't seem to get him off my follower's list.

Normally, you just block a player to completely to get rid of him/her. It removes them from the 'friends' and 'followers' list, but it is not the case with this one specific player.

Even though he's blocked he still shows up as a follower!

I've tested this out on other players and it works fine... just not for this guy!

Unable to remove follower

As title says i am unable to remove a follower after performing the usual steps after some random adds me i block the person this usually works in removing follower but this person still shows up on followers list after blocking,have removed profile and
re added still there which also brings me to another problem after blocking some one last year whenever i remove profile and re add there is a message i sent to that person in messages it is also on the xbox.com site and wont let me delete message there but
will let me delete message on the xbox.Also have another follower on my xbox who has been blocked for nearly a year and a half but still shows as a follower after doing all the usual steps please help fix this asap.

hi iam having the same problem but whit 2 players on my list even when blocked still show up in followers

 

I'm having the same problem. This whole "followers" thing is just stupid. What was wrong with just having friends?

 

I have 8 people who I recently removed and blocked but on my profile, smart glass and on the website it says they are followers, I have checked their friends list...guess what I'm not on them so why is it that they are as followers. Just another problem
with Xbox, I am guessing it had something to do with the March update cause that's the time this problem started. I spoke with Xbox live support chat...guess what....they didn't have a clue what I was on about, what kinda of help is that? I know more about
Xbox then those jokes....really wish Xbox would just sort it out already

For everyone who is experiencing the issue, please answer these questions:

• Have you/are you friends with the player on Xbox 360?
• To confirm, when you block the person, they are not removed as a follower?
• Is the player still able to message you?
• Can you hear the player in parties/voice chat?

Once we gather some further information it can be further investigated.

FOR XBOX ONE:

Try these basic steps:

Test connection:

Please go to Settings >> Network Settings and Choose Test Network Connection and Test Mutiplayer connection (if it went through , proceed with the next steps. If it displays some restriction messages please let us know and reply back with this post with
the exact message)

REMOVE ACCOUNT:

Settings >> Sign In, Security and Passkey >> Sign In and Security>> Remove me from this Xbox

CLEAR CACHE:

Please go to Settings >> Disc & Blu-ray >> Persistent Storage>> Clear Persistent Storage.

PARTNER FOR CLEAR CACHE:

please go to Settings >> Network >> Advanced Settings >> Alternate MAC >> Clear Alternate MAC >> Restart.

HARD RESET:

Press and hold the power button on your console for 5-10 seconds. Once the console is turned off. Please unplug the power supply from the wall outlet, disconnect all accessories and wait for 1 minute then plug it back and turn the console back on.

(do not use surge protector as it affects the console functionality. Xbox one psu has already a built in surge protector)

ADD PROFILE

: Kindly click the Sign In button on the main dashboard of your console> Add New> Type in the log-in credentials for your account.

Then try to view again friends/ social and it should now work

This is ridiculous I'm having the same problem. This needs to be resolved immediately. We pay for these subscriptions. XBOX 360 was amazing no problems. XBOX ONE sucks.

 

I have this problem as well. From what I can tell it is only happening with friends I added on the Xbox 360. When I removed a friend that I added on the Xbox One it left no trace. The two friends that I added on the 360 that I removed on the Xbox One still
show up as followers.

 

I have this issue where I cannot get rid of 3 followers. This is a server issue as no matter what client you use whether it be Xbox.com, smartglass or your console, your choice of client will not make a difference into resolving.

What I have noticed and became aware of is that if for example you were a follower on an account and you are blocked and then unblocked. The person who has the sticky follower will still be able to view your profile to how your privacy dictates. So for example
if all your privacy settings are "friends" only that person will still be able to view the profile as if they was still on your friends list.

Yes, blocking will fix it short term but there is a privacy issue around this bug too around sticky followers

 

I have tried some of these things to get rid of followers. I have 2 friends. No, I am not a social butterfly, and 7 unwanted followers. This feature is lame and unwanted, having the choice to shut this off would be nice. I don't want people I don't know
'following' me. I'm not going to go through these steps over and over on multiple devices, again not everyone uses smart glass, has phones and tablets and all that crap. If we must be forced to have this, then it should at least work. Oh, and the friend suggestion
thing is getting on my nerves as well. Stop stuffing this whole "social gaming" thing down peoples throats.
