Can't remotely turn on or off console when used for streaming

Hi all,

Recently bought an Xbox Elite bundle and all is working well apart from 2 minor annoyances.

Console works well for streaming across the network to my W10 laptop but none of the apps (Xbox app on W10, Smartglass on iPhone) will turn the console on or off remotely. Once the console is on (powered on manually), the apps pick it up and streaming/interacting
works fine. Just annoying it has to be turned on and off manually (can obviously still turn it off while streaming).

I've ensure that;

Yes, it's on the same network/SSID

Yes, it's set to instant-on in the power settings

Yes, the apps and console are signed in with the same Microsoft account

I've even reserved an IP for it on the router.

The other issue is when using the Elite controller on the laptop for streaming, it loses sync with the console and has to be paired again. This is even more annoying than the remote on/off feature. The controller is being used via USB since it's too far
away from the console to be used wirelessly. Surely the controller is smart enough to know which console it's sync'd to so shouldn't lose connectivity...

I've downloaded the Xbox accessories app and updated the controller firmware but nope, no go.

Thoughts? I've contacted support and you can tell they're just going through a script. Was asked to reset the console and setup the account again the go from there... it's brand new!

Issues with powering on the Xbox One from the Xbox app on windows 10.

Same problem - If I manually turn it on, it streams fine and everything works as it should. But if the console is off, I can't remotely turn it on from the app. I have tried resetting the console and forgetting and adding it again. The issue persists. Would
appreciate a fix.

that was the last one i got. nothing happened that could be remotely bad for me. i even used my fat original last night to pull up Facebook. is there any chance you either had a weak power brick (orange/red LED when console is on) or you shut the unit down
via front panel button vs. going to 'turn off system' via dashboard? both of those have been primary causes for RRoD for me

 

So no-one else is having this issue?

Weirdly enough, it started working yesterday. Was able to turn the console on and off remotely from the SmartGlass app but I've just gone to play again now and it's not working.
