    So my friend recently got another Xbox and he can't remember his log in email or his password the only thing he can go by is his gamertag and he doesn't know how to go about to get it so I figured I'd try to help but im not entirely sure how

    Hey James

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are experiencing difficulties with being able to recover an account.

    I recommend you take a look at the article that covers
    how to find you Microsoft account email    , as it provide servreal diffrent methods for you to be able to attempt to recover your account.

    Do you remember the email address? If so just visit
    account.live.com/.../reset     to reset the password in question. If you can't remember the email address or if you can't access it, contact Microsoft Support to see if they can help you

    Unfortunately, phone and chat support are the only ones who can assist with this issue if you can't remember the correct email address. There is no longer an email address for support.

    So you don't remember the password attached to the account? Do you remember the email (even though it may be inactive)? If you remember the email address, but can't remember the password, then go to
    http://account.live.com/acsr and fill out that form. :)
