Can't register Xbox controller

I've been trying to register my controller so I can update its warranty and get it serviced. Its up and left D-Pad buttons have detection issues. I'm moving out of country soon and I was planning on getting it fixed there but apparently the warranty only applies to the country you purchased it in

I tried to register the controller but the website just wont accept the serial number I'm providing
