Can’t Register My Controller Using It’s Serial Number

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have issue with registering a controller. We recommend to request a call from support to assist you.

When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:

• Step 1 ----click on Contact us
  
• Step 2 ----under what you having trouble with select Subscriptions & billing
  
• Step 3-----under what is the issue I can't redeem a code then hit next
  
  Step 4 ----scroll down to select request a call
  

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

Bought it around 2 years ago haven't used it much. I tried to register the controller number, it gave me "We did not recognize this serial number

Check the serial number, then try logging in again..." I asked MS support agents about it, they told me that the controller is not supported anymore. I gave one agent the number they tried to register it to my account they couldn't.

Thanks for your reply. I did try to register online earlier as well but the form does not accept the Serial Number of my controller. I believe there is a difference in the number of characters in Serial Numbers of the console and the controller. Perhaps
online registration is not permitted for controllers? Just wanted to check if someone has actually managed to register their controller online.

As far as I know you can't register any controller I tried to register my elite controller but the serial number was the wrong length

You can't directly add the controller serial number in the Microsoft Devices page.

Instead you need to do this:

Go to
https://devicesupport.microsoft.com and sign in. If not already done so, register your CONSOLE on that page with the console's serial number.

Then select the console and choose that you have trouble with an ACCESSORY of that console.

Select the controller from the drop down list, and THEN use the serial number of the controller to register it for repair.
