Can't redownload a game I got for free

The reason I am writing this is because I got this game for free during the free monthly games, I started to play the game for a couple of days. I was really enjoying it until one day when I went to turn my Xbox one and play the game, it said I need to be
on a profile which is connected to Xbox live which is a bit strange because at the time I was signed into Xbox live so I guess it was no big of a deal, I uninstalled it then tried to re downloading. While I was trying to re download it was charging me $100 for
a game I got for free. I have done everything I went on the account that it was downloaded from and nothing...

I did that free trial of Unravel...

The free trial was free.

I didn't have to pay for that.

Then I paid 19.99 for the game.

I got it to work. I just had to delete and redownload a few times.

 

Can't redownload a game I previously owned

Hi downloaded xenoverse 2 off Xbox gold 6 months back I want to redownload but it says I have to pay for it now I thought I owned the game once ive downloaded it to my console any other game I've downloaded from gold let's me reinstall any thoughts as to
why this particular game doesn't show up on my download list or previously owned list

 

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try logging in with the account that got the game then go to my games and apps then ready to install to download it.

 

Yeah I did that and nothing happened but I think the problem is I don't have an active Xbox Live like I am signed into it and all but I just don't have membership because it expired not too long ago, do you think that could be the problem?

 

Ah, that could be the problem. Xbox 360 games with gold games are your to keep regardless of your Live status. However, xbox one games with gold require a gold membership in order to play them. Once you renew your membership then you should have access
to the content again.
