Can't Redeem Xbox One S Points

Did you purchase the Xbox One S the promotional period? If not (including buying it before then), it's unlikely the Rewards programme will award you the points.

No. Once you redeem the points you can't refund them. You do know the Xbox gift card you're trying to purchase is the same thing you redeemed the points for right?

So I earned 2,914 points today and went to go redeem them for a $3 gift card. Every time I try and redeem I get the usual error message. I've read other questions and responses about checking the actual website or try it on the console. I tried
redeeming on my Xbox, chrome, and Microsoft Edge and still got the error message. is there really something wrong with my account. whats going on?

I assume this is related to Microsoft Rewards points, in which case you'd need to contact Microsoft Rewards Support. You can do so by going to: this link

Sign in at that Microsoft Rewards page, and if you scroll down you'll see a link for "Contact Microsoft Rewards Support", fingers crossed they can help you resolve this issue.

If you try to redeem a code for Microsoft Points (that fake currency before the switch to real currency) on the Xbox One, Microsoft Store app or the Xbox.com website,
you will get a "Check the instructions that came with your code. You might need to redeem it on a different web page." and "Xbox. Please redeem this code on your console."

The only way to redeem your Microsoft Points code is on an Xbox 360. The "console" in the above statement is referring to the Xbox 360, not the Xbox One. The Xbox 360 Dashboard is the only software left that
knows what Microsoft Points are. Once redeemed, the points will convert to its Estimated Retail Price and deposit to your Microsoft Account and will expire in a year.

When everything outside the Xbox 360 was overhauled to accommodate the Xbox One and Windows 10, Microsoft appeared to have removed most of the Xbox 360 backend from them (which is why you can't manage Xbox
360 downloads or see all your Xbox 360 purchases from Xbox.com anymore).

There is no such thing as a series one S, do you have a one S or a series S? If it has a disc Drive it's a one S

If you purchase the Xbox one version it will work on both systems, but the series version will work on series

Unfortunately since you bought the code from a third-party retailer no refunds are available, and since you redeemed the code it's unlikely Amazon would refund you because they can't take it back

The Series version is playable on the cloud via GamePass Ultimate
