Can't redeem Xbox Live Rewards $5 gift card code

I received an E-mail a few weeks ago giving me a code to redeem a $5 gift card just for being an Xbox Live Rewards member. There was no expiration date on the code as far as I could see in the E-mail. I tried to redeem the code tonight on my Xbox 360 and
received the error status code 80122727. I tried to redeem it on xbox.com and got this:

Something went wrong
Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate.

Not getting my Rewards code email?

Yesterday I bought a $25 Gift Card and $5 Gift Card from the Xbox Live Rewards, I still haven't gotten the email where they give me the code to redeem it on my Xbox?

Coinstar to "Pay Out" Xbox Live Codes

Rixty, a cash-based payment platform developed for use with online games and digital goods, is now an official Xbox Live Gift Cards and Gold Memberships code wholesaler. I have to say that I'm actually digging this. I think it's a great move by Microsoft to "sell" more XBL codes. I personally have never used a Coinstar machine since I don't want to give them my 8% or whatever they charge, but I see people using them all of the time. I can see a lot of people redeeming their change for XBL Codes. What do you guys think? Would you use a Coinstar machine for XBL codes?

Sorry to hear it. Which country do you live in and which country is your gamertag set for? It could be that the code is for a specific region only.

If everything is correct then you should give phone support a call to get this sorted. If you live in North America dial 1-800-469-9269

I called support. They said the code expired (even though there was no expiration date on the email). They told me to post on the Xbox rewards forum and request a new code. Hopefully, they can help me.

If you have enough Microsoft reward points, then you need to redeem the reward points for Xbox/Microsoft Gift Cards on the redeem page of Microsoft rewards. Then once the gift card codes have been emailed to you, then you can redeem those gift card codes on https://account.microsoft.com/billing/redeem Once you have enough money from the Xbox Gift Cards, you can then purchase Minecraft from the Microsoft Store or Xbox Store (depending on which version you want).

If you redeem your Microsoft Rewards points for a $5 Xbox Gift card. You receive $5 on your Microsoft account. You do not receive a physical gift card.

yes xbox gift cards will work on pc,s and yes you need xbox live gold go for xbox live gold first.

If you redeemed your rewards points for a Microsoft gift card or Xbox gift card, the balance should automatically be added to the account balance for the account that redeemed the points. They don't send you a code typically.

For help with the Microsoft Rewards program, you would need to contact their customer support via their redemption page. Rewards points can only be used to redeem gift cards through the Rewards program, not to be used to make purchases on Live. You would
need to save up enough to redeem an Xbox gift card and then use the money from that gift card.
