    Can't redeem code from another region?


    Greetings,

    I got gifted a code redeem for a game, got the code on email and after having some trouble signing on my account, i was able to get in a tried redeeming my code, only to get this red note:

    This code can't be redeemed. It was purchased in a different region from your account.

    I don't know if there is a way to still claim the game or at least get the person who gifted to me get a refund, my mother was the one who got me the code but she asked for help from my sibling who lives in Australia, however, i live in Canada.

    Will be waiting for a reply, this is my first time with a code for a Microsoft store so i'm pretty new for the platform.

    There's no way to bypass region restrictions. The person who gifted it would need to get a refund and then find a site that sells codes for your region.

    how do you redeem the code from my friend that live in different region.
    You cant. Your friend will have to request a refund for the code and purchase a code for you that is meant for your region.
