    Can't record for an hour on xbox one x?


    I have an external hard drive that's specifically for recording gameplay. When i start recording it shows whatever seconds of 1:00 indicating its setup correctly to record up to an hour but then when im playing it pops up saying clip saved after like 5 minutes. 2 TB hard drive so no space issues. Anyone know how to fix?

    I wasn't aware that we could ever record 2 hours on a console.

    Could you provide more information about when you could record for up to 2 hours, such as the console (original Xbox One, S, or X) and if you had any hard drives connected.

    That could be true but the xbox one x is supposed to record in 4k for up to an hour. About a month ago it was working fine but now it doesn't. Thanks for the reply.

    Game DVR Questions

    For number 1, depends on the resolution that you want to record clips.

    On Xbox One X you can record up to 30 seconds on 4K, but when posted, they will we downgraded to 1080p.

    On Xbox One S you can record up to 2 minutes on 1080p.

    On Xbox you can record up to 15 minutes on 780p.

    On the games that can't be recorded, we're yet to find if there is such list.

    I just tried these and it still is inconsistent. So far today, the longest recording without stopping was 16 mins, then it varies between 24 seconds to 6 and a half mins. I'm beginning to wonder if it is a glitch or bug.
