can't read incoming messages in my xbox live

so the problem is as follows all incoming messages are in a white text box and i can't read the text inside the text boxes in my xbox

Message?

A message from Xbox live is in my messages, but it can only be read from the 360.

I am currently without a TV, and may be in that state for many months, so I can't read the message.

Does anyone know what the message could be?

The problem is, that Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live use the same ports for incoming multiplayer traffic.

Some routers can't handle multiple devices expecting incoming traffic on the same ports properly. What happens is: You start a game on your PC and the PC requests ports for Live to be opened, and routed to the PC.

When you turn off the PC, the router does not free up the port forwarding rule. So the Xbox tries to open the port itself, and gets the message back that the PC already reserved the port for itself. So it can't redirect the incoming traffic to the console.

The only way to resolve that issue is to hope for a firmware update for your router that resolves that behaviour, or you need to get a

new router that is compatible with Windows 7 (and therefore has a special seal for that).

I also followed this steps, but they aren't working.

As usual, I get a message 'Disconnected from xbox live'.

Oh, and when signed in i can't even read my friend's voice messages (after 'loading' it says "The process can't be completed").

If I read message while in Xbox live it will still show I have a message, when I go to my Xbox one console and read the message it clears it from Xbox live
