Can't read game discs

My Xbox one is having trouble reading games. No errors just says insert disc. It quickly reads dvds no problem. My games are mint no scratches or anything.

I got it to detect a game last night by starting a DVD then putting a game. That's not working today. Almost seems like a software issue due to it quickly reading dvds.

Maybe, its your Disc Tray...Maybe it can't read game discs anymore!

 

Xbox can't read new games

My old xbox 360 can't read new games discs! The software is updated to the newest version (2.0.16197.0). Please help!

 

Got it to read again by playing a DVD then swapping for a game. This is ridiculous! I'm thinking about a factory reset but don't want to lose my saved games

 

Did yours happen suddenly? Mine used to have this issue, but fixed itself after the June update, but suddenly resurfaced again. Mine goes like this, I insert a game, but the tile still says insert disc. I eject, the disc pops out a little then the drive
eats it back in. Then it works like there's no issue.

Man, and I thought I didn't have to worry about this after the June update.

 

Yea started doing this yesterday. Did the same as yours but I have to keep swapping dvd to game disc till it finally reads the game. About 10 minutes of doing that for it to read the game today.

 

I'm starting to regret this Xbox One...smfh.

Ive had my xbox about 2 months now, with no issues, until I purchased Sniper Elite 3 last night. I had the exact same issue, I just keeps saying insert a disc.

Pressed Eject - Nothing Happen

Pressed Eject again after 20 secs - Disc came out

Put it back in - Worked fine

Tested all my discs today and powered off at the wall - All working fine

Not sure what happened or why, but scared the life out of me

 

Mine had this issue prior to the June update, but after that it went away. Now tell me why after I buy Super Dead Rising 3 Alpha whatever, the issue came up again?

1) insert disc

2) No error, tile just says insert disc.

3) I eject and the disc pops out a little then drive eats the disc again.

4) Reads it properly this time.

WTF.

 

ive had mine since thanksgiving. issue started with cod ghosts which ive been playing since i got the console. get the same problem with all games i put in the dang thing. before anything will i HAVE to play a dvd first.

i havent gotten any updates within the time this started. havent moved the xbox since it was hooked up thanksgiving night. literally nothing has changed.

 

I've had my new console less than a month and tried today for the first time to install a game from disc. It pulls the disc in and that's it. It doesn't even seem to try and read it. The home screen just says insert disc as if nothing has happened. It ejects
ok and there's no error message, just won't read it at all. I've tried other blu rays and even my sons dvds but it will read nothing. Guess I'm sending my new console back for replacement. Pretty disappointing.

 

Mine usually plays up say if i watch a blu ray then go to play a game it doesnt recognise the game and i have to reboot xbox its annoying

 

did a factory reset. everything played fine for about 2 weeks but just started acting up again. "FUTURE of gaming" they said. i had less hassle with the 360....

 

My Xbox one started going black after the beginning load up screen. It will only play Somme games now. I believe Xbox has gone to junk with the Xbox one! How do I fix this?

 

Did you ever find a solution?? Mine is doing that exact thing!
