Can't read disc error... (0x80820002)

I literally just got this console a few hours ago, hooked it up and put the brand new game disc in, got this error. Unfortunately the 'hold the disc until console pulls it hard then release' method didn't help me.

Guess I should not have expected a Microsoft product to be working right away?

 

Do a factory reset, it's a software problem caused by some updates. Doing a factory reset wich deletes everything btw so you have been warned normally fixes every issue there is with your xbox one. If you send it in they usually do the same .

 

Brand new system, won't read my games. Went and got a new system and games, and its sad to say I'm still getting the same problems. If you want to buy an xbox 1 just to look at it, go to Wal-Mart.

 

I bought an xbox one from wal-mart online, it arrived brand new today, and it won't play my FIFA 14. I exchanged the game, and i still have the same error. It sounds like this is a hardware issue. I have tried everything on this forum, and nothing has worked.
Quite honestly, i am so disappointed, i might just get a playstation.

can someone please tell me what my options are? can i get it replaced?

Its a software issue. My story. My first x1 had a overheat issue. Got a replacement from the store. Everything "honky- dory", untill 0x80820002. Can watch blue- ray movies and play music cd' s, but not what it is supposed to do x1 games.

Lets hope the microsoft guys and gals are sweeting as much as i did when this trouble happend

 

I bought an xbox one earlier today and yes, I have this error also, none of the games i bought have worked, I've tried everything. I will be looking to return the console and try another one.

 

Hello everyone. I wonder if the problem 0x80820002 is a software problem by the recent upgrade and if they will release a patch for the problem could not and as they play no game that whenever I introduce it I get the erro, appreciate the help please

 

Mister Quimby can you please stop posting wrong advise regarding 0x80820002 aka game disc not being read. This is due to August 2014 update which has caused the problem. Therefore console should not be sent in for repair. It will just cause an entire flood
where unnecessary Xbox One coming in for pointless repair. A new software update is needed to fix this game disc issue by Microsoft. This must Microsoft way of introducing Digital Downloads.

 

Microsoft u need to fix this ***!!! Had mine since day one and it just recently started doin this *** after the august update today i try to install d3 and it says stopped installation and says i took the disc out when i didnt*** sake!!!

 

Like i said before do a factory reset, this should solve the software related drive issues.
