Can't purchase free game of the month for xbox 360 on xbox.com

I no longer have my xbox 360 but I want the free game of the month. when I go to xbox.com to buy the free game it comes up with an error message "Sorry, Your account is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox.com. Please complete this transaction from
your Xbox.". When I researched the problem they said it was because my account is blocking purchases. I logged into my parent account and nothing is blocked, making purchase of any rating is allowed. What can I do to fix this?

Can't download Xbox one free with gold games due to age restriction.

My 12yr old has a Gold subscription and Xbox 360. One of the big seller advertisements on the Gold page is to download (purchase) Xbox One games, and have them

ready for when you purchase a Xbox One.

However, we can't make purchases on Xbox.com to obtain the free with gold games, even if they are rated E for eveone. The only place he can purchase games is direct on the 360.

I have ran into same issue in last month and still can't figure out anything. I am able to get Xbox One free games but not 360 Free games. Market says:

"Sorry

Your purchase cannot be completed at this time. Please try again."

And this error is keep getting all the time, even from xbox.com on PC. I have already missed free 360 game in September and now I will miss October too.

 

Either wait till your account turn 18 or purchase it with an home gold master account

 

Got the same problem. I removed all restrictions on my son's account and it still won't allow purchases from xbox.com marketplace for xbox 360 or One games. Driving me nuts!!!! Thinking I should have just made his, an adult account from the beginning?

 

Xbox and Microsoft should do what Steam does and allow people to buy games as a gift and that person is then able to directly gift that item/game to family/friends xbox accounts. Used it hassle free with Steam and would get rid of this clunky system!

The account would either have to be always on like steamto prevent hackers from monetarizing stealing accounts

I rather not give them another reason to do so

Seeing the xbox one protests that wouldn't go over well

What works on one system won't work on others

Steam requires constant connection

All the hacker would have to do is max out the poor users credit card and wham sell off the content

Made money right there and never connect ever again on psn or xbox

Vs always on you do that your account and pc are banned forever

Even then that's avoidable as vpn can mask any ip

 

Rampant scams occur now it is harder to montarize

 

Child accounts and controls are same across all systems

 

The said op already has a solution the master account has to be an adult account he can login and make the purchase at the webstore

Gifting games is not a supported service and is done at your own risk which is safer as no online service allows you to monetarily your account

You can gift via 3Rd websites if you get scammed for doing something you ain't supposed to like selling your account it's your issue

 

Having this issue too and after a long 2 hour conversation with Xbox support about uneccessary account details, I basically have to buy Xbox live gold (trials don't count :/) on the parent account and then download it. This is due to what the developer makes
the restrictions for but I still think this is absolutely stupid and pointless to make a restriction which you can't remove. Thanks a lot Mircrosoft and game developers.
