Cant purchase anything with my MS account balance.......

Ok so I have $65 on my microsoft account that i can not spend i have a paypal account linked to my acount aswell as a credit card I've tried purchasing on the xbox it does not work..... i try on the website it does not work... it dosnt even give me the option
to use my account balance in any situation I've been trying to make purchases for almost a month now and it's getting to be a big problem right now I feel like i'm being conned by microsoft there is NO reason i can think of that would cause me to be unable
to make purchases with my account balance, you go to the store purchase a card bring it home put it on your account why? becuase you want to purchase somthing on the xbox. but you cant? this is out-rageous honestly..

Why can't I use my MS account balance?!?

Yes, I was trying to make the purchase on the website. How am I supposed to know that I can't use my MS account balance on the website? Not everyone stalks the forums before making a purchase!

The website was more than happy to accept the prepaid code!

If I can't make purchases on the website with my MS account balance, it should

#1 - clearly state that I can't use MS account balance to pay for purchases via website

AND

#2 - it shouldn't accept the prepaid card code on the website!

Now how do I use the MS account balance?

 

Redeeming gift card & using balance for games

I'm having issues with a gift card that my son was given, I redeemed the balance & can see it in my account but I cant seem to be able to use it to purchase the games he's after either directly online in the MS store via a browser on a desktop nor on the
Xbox itself through the MS store. I get a message saying that account balances cant be used in the specified channel.

Is there something I am missing as it seems unnecessarily convoluted to use?

What region are you in? Does your physical location match the region of your profile and console? Is all your account information filled out including date of birth and full legal name? Are you over the age of majority in your region? What error messages
are you receiving.

 

I recieve no error messages, just the message saying to try again later.. I do not have all my real information on my account because it dosn't require any of my information nor does it even ask. and im not completely sure would this question means. " Are
you over the age of majority in your region? "

 

Are you trying to purchase the content using the Xbox console? Is there any payment instrument attached to your account?

 

I tried to preorder titanfall as well for the xbox one through the hopper on the xbox 360.... but it won't let me use the $$ in my MS account. what a friggin joke. and a waste of money as well as I now have money in the account that I can't even use to preorder
games. nice job, MS

not to mention, the xbox one doesn't even HAVE a hopper for preordering titanfall, which is an even worse joke.

come ON MS. get your act together and help your customers!

 

im still unable to spend money i ran out of gold membership and Im not spending money out of my creditcard to renew it when I have 65$ + on my xbox live acc.

 

The currency added to your account can't be used to purchase Gold.

 

At this present time Xbox Live is issues with downloadable content. I just spoke with an agent and they are working it. Once it is fixed, you should be bale to download your games and purchase using any of your payment options, to include any Money on you

Hi there!

You may need to contact Xbox support thru chat or phone so they can view the status of your account. If there is any risk blocks, they can remove it for you. Risk blocks are common for purchase errors.

Also,

What we normally do in your case is to first check the Internet connection and check if there are no Live alerts that would cause the "please try again error".

Next, clear the marketplace cache and the system cache 3 times.

Turn off the console for 30seconds.

Try to make the purchase.

If you are still getting the error message. Delete the profile only. Clear cache 3x again. Turn off console for 30 seconds. Download profile. Connect to Live and sign in to your profile and attempt to make a purchase.

If all else fails. Best to contact support so they can have it escalated.
