    I have bought a second hand xbox 360 e, which is not able to connect to internet, it connects to network but internet failed and xbox live is blocked, network connection is working fine, tried to update using flash drive, update didnt detected, while updating over network got an error message, "can't process the update. if the problem persist, go to www.xbox.com/support status code: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx c800 0036

    Basically a jtag would mean that the console may have been previously banned from Xbox Live and was modded to gain access again. There is no way to reverse this process and the only way to tell would be to take the console apart and know what you're looking for inside.

    I think at this point your best bet may be to check if a gaming store near you offers repairs and could check to see if that's what's happened.

    Well, on that, i've no idea as it's a handydown.. but.. is there any way to know whether it has been modded.. or is there any way to reinstall the stock os so that every thing resets to factory.. will this help..?

    and.. what exactly is this "modded or jtagged" means..? is this by h/w or s/w..??

    Sorry for the delayed reply I was looking into the error code some more. It's possible that if the console has been modded or jtagged that the update won't work as that would mean the console has been banned from Live. If that's the case there would be nothing that we could help with.

    Hi,

    thanks for the fast response,..

    as I mentioned earlier, i've tried all available option over the internet,

    also, i'm trying to update through a flash drive, but as i read over the internet, after a restart, console should have detected the update and should have started the update, but its not happening, i can see the flash drive mounted, yet couldn't access any of the files.

    also, i couldn't find any explanation for the error code i'm getting, could any one help me with this

    Hello Pavan, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your update.

    Please try the steps at this link https://support.xbox.com/en-CA/help/xbox-360/co... to see if you're able to get things back up and running.

    However, if that does not work it could be an issue with the console itself. Unfortunately, if this is the case then Xbox no longer offers repairs for the 360 console. What I would recommend if you'd like to see about getting it fixed would be to check your local gaming store to see if they offer a repair service.
