Can't pre-install Gears 5 with Xbox (Beta) app using Ultimate Game Pass

Did you pre-order the game? You can only download early if you have already pre-ordered it or do so now. This game is not available just because you have ultimate or game pass.

I have Game Pass Ultimate, and I was able to download the game when the pre-load when live.

Have you made sure your using the same account on the Microsoft store?

I also tried lots of the above advice

In the end I unistalled gears then run game pass as admin. This then gave me the option to choose installation drive.

It seems it was trying to install to c: which didn't have enough room even though settings said d:

Running it as admin it gave me a choice of drives and actually started installing on d:

I have not had this issue with any other games (I think but they are possibly on c:?!)

Tried this as well, and yet still no dice. If I try ultimate edition I get an error saying something in this bundle has not downloaded yet, if I try the standard edition, I get the above error code. Wish Microsoft would get on this, seems like a pretty easy
fix to me, but I'm also not a programmer.

i'm having the same issue. got my windows to update 1903. i even ran crackdown 3 that i downloaded this morning, but everything that has to do with gears of war 5 and its installation isn't properly running. it was allowing me to download it via xbox one
