    Can’t play Xbox 360 backwards compatible games on Xbox one


    I purchased digital versions of xbox 360 games on my xbox one and can’t play them because when I load up the game I’m disconnected from xbox live. I’ve read many threads on this and none of the advice works - I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling the games, logging out of and back into my profile, hard reset, checked network settings (NAT type), turning off router, etc. I don’t have two factor authentication on and my password is not longer than 16 digits either. I’ve even been given a new xbox to see if it is a hardware issue and the problem still occurs - please help!

    Hello Gamer! Backwards compatibility means the version before the current which for example if an Xbox 1 game is backwards compatible it can be played with Xbox 1 and Xbox 360. Which means a backwards compatible game for the Xbox 360 can’t be played with
    an Xbox 1.

    As an owner of an xbox one s I do play xbox 360 games with backwards compatibility. The simplest way to explain how it does this is this: the xbox one essentially opens up the xbox 360 software to be able to play the games that are backwards compatible.
