Cant play with friends

It's internet provider is causing these major problem and match making is horrible in all online games.

Nilay here and I'm glad to answer your query today.

Your problem could be a result of your NAT type. Your NAT type will affect your ability to connect to other Xbox Live gamers. Below are examples and a description of each NAT type.

Open NAT: With an OPEN NAT type, you're able to play and host multiplayer games with people who have any

NAT type on their network.
Moderate NAT: With a MODERATE NAT type, you're able to play multiplayer games with some people; however, you might not be able to play with others, and normally you won't be chosen as the host of a match.
Strict NAT: With a STRICT NAT type, you're only able to play multiplayer games with people who have an OPEN NAT type. You can't be chosen as the host of a match.
Unavailable NAT: If NAT is unavailable, you’ll be unable to use party chat or connect to multiplayer games for some titles on Xbox Live.

If you need help finding this information, follow these steps.

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
Select System > Settings > General > Network settings.
Under Current Network Status, the NAT Type field displays your current NAT type.

Please note to play online you need xbox live.

Ok please check you privacy setting on the console. Maybe it has been activated before by parent or garduain.

Im on xbox 360 and when i play games it says my nat type is open and so are my friends. I can play online fine but joining friend parties and games arent working

in the sanctuary, go to the LIVE room and check your settings, and make sure you can connect with that friend- have them do the same.
