    Can't play with a specific friend on Xbox One


    I can't play Xbox One games with a specific friend directly. We can play any Backwords Compatible Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One but not Xbox One games. It has connected randomly but most of the time it fails. We can connect to partys and we can play if
    we join a different friends session. We're both wired and have open NAT, reset our Xbox's to factory, all ports open, set a static IP, and have even changed my DNS. This has been happening for 2 months now.

    Can't join games with a specific friend.

    For the past 1-2 months, a friend and I have had trouble playing games together. We send invites to each other, and they are received, but, after accepting them, we just get an error message. We can join games with other friends, and can play together, as
    long as someone other than he or I hosts the game.

    The games we've tried this with recently are: Rocket League, and For Honor. We can platoon together in World of Tanks, however, regardless of who is host.

    Both of our consoles have the most recent update installed.

    Is this a console-related issue, or an issue with the aforementioned games?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I would still suggest removing and re-adding him as your friend on Xbox just to test.

    If this will not work, try checking your privacy settings and make sure everything is allow on your privacy and online safety through this link:

    https://account.xbox.com/settings

    If the problem is the same, please reach out to the developer of the game to check with them on what is going on as this is already an in game problem.

    What error message are you getting when you try to play with your friend on that specific game?

    Have you tried deleting your friend from your list then adding him again?

    Are both your NAT types open?

    If there is no issue on your console or any other games, this could be specific to only this game.

    You may also try reaching out to the game developer as well if that is the case.

    No error message, it just says "lost connection."

    I have not tried deleting this person, nor do I think it would work.

    Okay, can you do me a favor and next time you try to connect with this specific friend, can you and our friend both submit a report through the Report a Problem app. You can download it from the store on the Xbox and please add [Xbox Forums] to the title. Once you do so can you please share the names of each report that both you and your fiend submit so that we can investigate on both ends.

    Hey sorry for the late response. Yes, the problem still persists we tries playing For Honor last week and we couldn't play together unless someone else was host of the lobby.
