Can't play "Original" Xbox Game on Xbox 360

When I try to play Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge my Xbox tells me that "This original Xbox game is not supported on your Xbox 360 console. An update to support this game may be available. for more info, go to
www.xbox.com/games."

Then the only option it gives me is "This original Xbox game has not been c..."

It's an Xbox 360 Elite, the game used to work but I didn't use my Xbox for about 6 months and now it doesn't work. It's running latest OS, it plays GTA 5/Borderlands 2 with no problem.

Although the game is on the backwards compatibility list those games will not play if you do not have an official Xbox 360 hard drive or if the disc has become damaged.

I understand the game worked in the past. Have you changed the hard drive since then?

 

Have you changed your display settings or TVs? The Xbox original emulation is broken at best. If you've changed from say 1080p to 1080i, it may not boot up. If you have, see if you can remember what those settings were. Some games only boot up on RGB/Component,
others boot up on HDMI at say only 720p. Play around if this applies to you.

 

While Crimson Sky may be slated for future release it did not make the list of immediate releases found here

www.xbox.com/.../available-games Even though it isn't here yet it may still be slated for later release. The list of games is planned to expand over the next several months. Give it time and watch for upcoming compatibility releases with your game. Hopefully
it comes soon for you and the rest of us.
