    Can't play online.


    So I picked up the game yesterday. It had me create a Battle.net account, and then link my gamertag, which I did. Every time I go to play the game I get an error message telling me the Diablo 3 servers are not available. For two whole days I'm getting
    this message while my friend are playing to their heart's content.

    I called Xbox support and the guy tried everything he (or I) could think of including checking NAT (open, as always), clearing persistent storage, deleting and reloading the game. Nothing works. He gave me a number for support at Blizzard, so I that was
    my next call.

    I have absolutely nothing positive to say about Blizzard's support for the console version's of this game. Their website (Battle.net) is nothing but a hamster wheel: You go around and around but never make any progress. You see, their support FAQ does reference
    not being able to connect so at least they know it's been an issue, but it's solution is to contact MS (been there, done that, didn't help). The other option is to open a ticket but, console support being nonexistent at Blizzard, it is not setup for consoles.
    It asks you to upload a traceroute, a MSINFO file and a DXDIAG file. If you're using a console this is unavailable to you, and without it you can't open a ticket or live chat or get a call back because it's required info.

    Now, about that phone number. I called and spoke with Bob. Bob? Look, I know the reality of the world is that a lot of companies outsource to Asian countries (India, the Philippines, etc...) because it's cheap labor but I've always found the Americanized
    name slightly insulting to my intelligence. So I explain the issue to "Bob", and as soon as he hears "Xbox One" he tells me that they only support PC and laptop. I ask for a number that does support consoles and he says he doesn't know one. Then he goes into
    this spiel about tech support for a fee, at which point I begin to point out the lunacy of charging someone for a service will provide no use, and that's when Bob puts me on hold. Now, I was factual and maybe even a little forceful, but I was never rude (no
    cursing, no insults). So I hold for about three minutes (many phone systems can discern whether the agent or the caller hangs up, so instead of dropping you they'll put you on hold and hope you disconnect because it doesn't raise as many red flags). Bob must
    have gotten worried someone would ask him why he was on hold so long (again, modern IVR systems can monitor agents and excessive hold times stand out) so he came back on the line. I asked him if there was anything else he could do and he said he was a third
    party company and could only support the PC and laptop version. Having worked in call centers for nearly 20 years, I knew he was outsourced and only knew what Blizzard had scripted for him, but at least he broke script and was honest, if no more helpful than
    before.

    So if you but this game, pray that it doesn't have issues. Blizzard will not support you and you will have wasted $60 dollars on a product which doesn't not function as promised. I won't make that mistake again.

    just got my Xbox one today, trying to play online, when I try too , a screen pops up and says , the current profile is not allowed to play on Xbox live, not sure what to do ?

    Thanks for posting your story. I've been having a lot of trouble too. Whenever I use a wired connection with my XB1 and then boot up Diablo III I get an error connecting to servers message. The weird thing is when I go wireless, I can connect, however the
    connection is laggy and practically unplayable. What a disappointment, I had hoped to play through this game online with a friend.

    I've tried both wired and wireless, neither work for me. I have two friends who also have it and they haven't any issues.

    The biggest concern is the utter lack of support from Blizzard for the console version of this game. In my job I'm heavily involved in customer experience and satisfaction. This would be considered a total failure and worthy of termination.

    Just got home from work and thought I'd try to play the game again, but no luck. Still says "The Diablo III server is not available at this time. Please try again later."

    I did some checking on Google and found several posts on the Battle.net forums show that others are having this problem and Blizzard is aware of it, so there is that. But the funny thing about their forums is "You need a character (created in-game) to post
    on the forums". Since I can't connect to their servers they can't see that I do have a character created, so the only place where I can interact with Blizzard is not available to me.

    Again, if Microsoft cares one bit about their customers, it would help greatly if they would use whatever influence they have with these people to push for a swift resolution.

    Have you tried doing a hard reset of the console? This can help sometimes.

    Can't play online.

    I am having the same problem. No answers from anyone . Xbox wants me to do ip changes everything? I can play everything else co op? My friends system freezes when she trys to join my game. I get message that there is a problem with join. Blizzard had a none
    working number I found online xbox did not have one to give me. I can not make ticket with blizzard because its not a pc or mac computer version. The support is just blogs . No Help what a waist of money. I got it to do a fun co-op to slash and hunt with friends.
    I wish I never had seen it .

    My buddy is also having an issue. We have 2 Xbox ones in the same house. I can connect to Diablo, Titanfall, ect. But he can't. It's driving us nuts. All we want to do is play one of the two $60 games we each bought but no. I might be done with Xbox one
    and go back to the 360.

    ok I got the servers to go away by doing this like 15 times

    just keep clicking which way u want to play like

    inv only

    friends only or private or public

    just keep clicking that and the servers will go away and u wont get the msg

    I know it suks but it works for me everytime and I can inv and join friends easily

  12. If you check Xbox.com/support (something I would always recommend when Xbox One online issues are concerned) it has a message saying they are aware of multiplayer chat and server unavailability issues with Diablo III and are working with "their partners"
    to resolve the issue. I know its lame that these issues are happening, but something tells me neither Blizzard nor Msft expected D3 to be this popular on XB1.

    I ran into about the same thing about online co oping not working and trying different things to get co op to work. I contacted xbox and they tried . Blizzard does not have concele support. Its just for pc games. They do not have a working phone number just
    web sight that routs you right back to xbox. I got a free game from Blizzard but I do not have a pc to support the game. The only thing I can do by getting this free game is post but no help in making a support ticket. Bottom line I got a PC game set for co-op
    that made to run on xbox but does not work and no support. 60 dollors not well spent.

  14. We have the same issue, and as another user above described we have two xbox ones in the same house and one works (for playing Diablo 3 online) and the other doesn't, no matter who is signed in on which. Our solution has been to play together on the same
    console - which works very well in Diablo 3 thankfully - but I really would like to be able to play with our online friends. We have completely reset the xbox one to factory settings, upgraded the router firmware, changed wireless settings/networks, cleared
    and downloaded our profiles, and even created new battle.net accounts (prior to determining that both accounts worked on the working console). The messages about known issues with Diablo Multiplayer on the support page aren't a lot of help when it is clear
    one machine works - every time - and the other NEVER works. No idea why.

    Funny thing, when we play co-op on the console that cannot play online, we still get achievements, notifications from other friends including sending/receiving in game mail, can record/upload clips, etc. So it does not appear to be a problem with online
    connectivity.

    Diablo is an activision game. Activision games dont use the standard xbox live ports meaning your NAT could be strict for diablo even if you have an open nat on the dashboard.

    Ive noticed diablo seems to open port 1200 using demonware portmapping via UPnP.

    If this UPnP isnt working properly you will need to use port forwarding to open diablo's nat.

    Try forwarding port 1200 to your xbox one
