Can't play online on xbox 360 games on my xbox one console.

Hello, it's in the title, when i try to launch a game of xbox 360 on my xbox one i got a loading screen

with the message saying "getting information from your xbox 360" then i got an error message

telling me to go to xbox.com/support for more information, but even with the error message

the game is launched, then when i want to get back the information of my account, the console is

looking for an internet connection but don't find it, when im already connected to my xbox one

and i can play online on xbox one, so i just bought some games that i can only play offline

and can't even save.

Xbox one can't connect to 360 servers

My xbox one can connect to all xbox one servers, but if i try to play a 360 game on my xbox one, it wont connect to online. I can still use xbox one party chat and messaging but can't play the 360 game online. PLZ HELP.

Backward Compatibility Issue

I have both xbox 360 and xbox one. I can play any game online on my 360 with a wired or wireless connection. I can play any xbox one game online with a wired or wireless connection. But I can't play a backward compatible game online on my xbox one unless
i have a wireless connection, and i prefer to use wired. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hey there Kingz of World,

Let's have you try to clear the local Xbox 360 cache on the console and see if that helps. Here's how.

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Note Double-tapping the Xbox button will open the guide from any other screen on the console.

Select Settings.

Select All settings.

Select System and then select Storage.

Select Clear local Xbox 360 storage.

Select Yes and restart the console.
This will not affect your cloud saved games or Xbox One games and profiles.

Thank you for your answer, i solved the problem it's just that i had to connect an ethernet cable cuz without it i can't connect on xbox 360 account and games.

Hi I've got the same issue but i already have mine connected via ethernet and ive tried it wirelessly. Ive tried clearing the cache and many other things anyone found a solid solution?

You can't play Xbox One games on the 360, but you can play 360 games on the Xbox One console.

Internet Expert

If you are playing an Xbox 360 game through the Xbox One's backward compatibility feature, you are able to play it online.

While playing the Xbox 360 game online, players on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles would populate the same servers and lobbies.

As a sidenote, the Xbox 360 version of GTA V is currently NOT backward compatible with the Xbox One.

there are some current game titles that are out on both consoles but unfortunatly you can't play xbox one games on the xbox 360.

"You can be signed in to one Xbox One console and one Xbox 360 console at the same time. However, there are some apps that you can't use on different consoles at the same time."

My question is: What if I play a Backwards Compatible 360 game on the Xbox One, will it log me off the Xbox 360?
