    Can't play online, but have Xbox Live Gold and internet


    I recently switched to the Xbox Series X and I've been experiencing online play issues that weren't present before. I have internet and I pay for Xbox Live Gold yearly, however when I go to play online on games, for example, Rainbow 6 Siege or Forza Horizon 5, I can load in and play the game but when I choose a multiplayer gamemode, I get a prompt from Xbox that states I need to purchase a subscription to play which two options that appear, both being variations of the Game Pass such as Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate. It's not that I don't have these games other than Game Pass because I can open the game play it but only offline.

    To play online you need Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate.

    Check your subscriptions at http://account.microsoft.com to see if it does show that you have a subscription. Gold was discontinued in September. Game Pass Core took its place. So you would need either Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate (which includes Core) in order to play online.

    Story is played offline you have to have xbox live gold and internet to play the GTA online mode.

    To play online you need Xbox live GOLD. If you have the free account or the Xbox live silver account then you can't play online. So I'm sorry but you're going to have to pay for Xbox live Gold in order to play online. I hope this helped!

    the gamerscore the same online as on the Xbox? If you tried to play online but can't, do you have an active Xbox Live gold membership? If you have an Xbox Live Gold membership and you can't play online, you can contact support at http://support.xbox.com
