    Can't play offline on xbox one


    So every time I tried starting a game, it would ask me to go online. After some research, I found out that I must set my xbox as my Home System and go offline in the network settings. So I did. Now, I can start up the game just fine, yay! But now, in the
    game's main menu, where they ask you to press start for the first time (Halo MCE) or you must click on play game (minecraft), every time I do so, they ask me AGAIN, to connect to Xbox live in order to play... wtf?!

    That is not what I call being able to play offline... so or someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong, or someone explain to me why did Microsoft lie about that supposed ability for xbox one to play offline. An incredible nice suprise for someone who's
    been a PS guy all his life, and decided to give Xbox a chance for the first time...

    And before I'm asked what's so hard about simply connecting to the internet, simple, the internet company in the country is on bloody strike...

    Backwards compatible games offline

    Apparently you can't play 360 games offline on xbox one. Even though I was able to do so not even last year. It says to set that Xbox to your home Xbox and if it's not the home Xbox you can't even set it offline. Bravo Microsoft, bravo.

    This is digital. I have tried what XBF said. Didnt work sonic decided to try to set my xbox as home again. I had to request it. As of now I can't do anything that requires me changing my xbox home or I wont be able to play anything else.

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently inquiring about not being able to launch games offline.

    What I would recommend is that you first,

    Remove your console as your Home Xbox    ,
    power cycle     your console by holding the
    Xbox button
    on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds, and then re-setting your console as your Home Xbox.

    Remove your console and setting it as your Home Xbox does not consume one of your five switches, however, using a different
    console will. Keep in mind this all has to be done while connected to Xbox Live.

    Give this a try and let us know

    Like stated in another post above you would need to put your console into offline mode to allow this.

    Also like stated above there are games that are only online games like destiny 2 and fortnite and games like that, these will not work while in offline mode.
