    Every time I try to play a downloaded game that takes up high storage, specifically Grand Theft Auto V, I get a message saying “Do you own this game or app”. The solutions offered don’t work; my connection is fine, I have not attempted to “game-share”, my
    Xbox is my home Xbox, it is downloaded (I had to buy it twice, once on Xbox 360 and once on Xbox One), Xbox’s Gaming and Social services have been up and running, no one else own the game, and restarting the game/console does not change anything. If anyone
    else has this issue or has a solution, please let me know

    it will either say “something went wrong” or “the person who bought this needs to sign in” when I’m the owner who purchase all my games.

    Heya!

    Happy to help troubleshoot this issue.

    Could you provide the following info so we can best assist:

    • Are you seeing the same issue with all games that are digital or just GTA V?
    • Is your console plugged into a power strip or surge protector?
    • Are you using an external hard drive with the console?
    • Do the same things occur with another account on your console?

    Let's also have you
    remove your profile
    ,
    power cycle the console
    , and then sign back in and try once more to launch a game that is giving out the error.

    Power cycling does not seem to solve the problem, so do I need to remove my profile for this to work?

  6. The basic reason that you would get that message is that their is no license for that game on that console which means 1 of 3 things:

    If the game was bought digitally

    1. You are trying to play on an account that did not purchase the game or if you did purchase the game with that account it was refunded back for some reason or another. What i would do is check online at account.live.com and look at your purchase history
    to make sure that you were not refunded it for some reason or another.

    2. An account that did purchase the game at one point was on the console and downloaded the game to that console and did not set that console as that accounts home console so other profiles on that console could then play their digital games.

    If it was a disc game.

    3. The license for the game goes with the disc itself so the disc would have to be in the console in order to play the game.

  7. This is happening to me with SSX3. I downloaded it under my profile. As soon as it was done downloading I attempted to start it and got the “Do you own this game or app” message. Well, yes I do, I just now bought it! I have been trying to start it up ever
    since I purchased it, under my own account, nobody else is logged in, I am the primary account, and it’s not working. This is ****.

    Exactly as Christopher RN said, GTA V is installed digitally and I have the rights to play it. I purchased it on my profile on my Xbox, and I used to be able to play it just fine. All at once I was getting the same error message and now I can’t do anything
    about it. I have purchased the game twice already, once on my Xbox 360 to play it and once on my Xbox One, and nothing changed, so it is kind of infuriating that I still can’t play with my friends

  9. Have you checked your order history online at account.live.com to make sure that it wasn't refunded for some reason?
