    Can't play Call of Duty: Black Ops online.


    Hey, everyone.

    I've had an issue with the original Black Ops for several years now that I've just sort of put off trying to fix. After getting the urge to hop back in after who knows how long, I figured now was the perfect time to try and figure it out.

    When I load into the game, I'm greeted with an error message during the intro that reads "The Call of Duty: Black Ops server is not available at this time. Please try again later or visit http://www.callofduty.com/blackops/status for updates." Visiting this website is completely unhelpful, and I get the same message when I try to access Xbox Live multiplayer or play Zombies online. This is happening on an Xbox One, though I got the same message in the past whenever I tried to play on an Xbox 360. Furthermore, this is the only "classic" COD game where this happens. Any suggestions?

    Are you playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or Call of Duty: Black Ops? With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 an issue could be you are trying to play split screen online multiplayer over Xbox Live. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 does not support split
    screen online multiplayer. On the other hand if you are playing Call of Duty: Black Ops split screen online multiplayer is support however both accounts must be gold subscriptions (unless the 2nd user is signed in as a guest). If this problem proceeds please
