Can't play BC games from disc

I'm getting this same issue now with cod ghosts which is bc... can't find anyone other than this guy with the same problem, anywhere! Talked to xbox support and they said it's a problem on their end and that they know about it.. really looking for an ETA...
it's been over a week now and I'd really like to pkay...

Ok, thank you. I am now considering buying an Xbox 360 to play this game and a few others that aren't BC. Delisted games can't be purchased from online storefronts but can still be played if you have the disc, correct?

OK here's a walk-around: buy the game digitally on Microsoft store =)

If this is the master plan of making players buy the game again, kudos to the BC team

OK enough for the conspiracy theory, the following is my genuine theory about what happened: BC team forgot to add the Chinese disc ID of Splinter Cell to the supported list.

I've verified that my console is functional (can play other BC discs) and the Splinter Cell disc is fine (can be played on Xbox 360). Not audited by any third-party, obviously.

Now, my Xbox Series X reads the disc, sends the disc code to Xbox Live to see if it is a BC title. The network returns NO. It goes through the list of BC discs and can't find it. The list may have the US one, the EU one, the JP one, but not the Chinese one. Its box says it's made in Singapore and imported by a Taiwan company. I bought it in Hong Kong and plays it on HK Xbox 360.

Unfortunately the disc doesn't have a code on it so I can't pin-point the entry. For example, my Metal Gear Solid HD collection has the code on it: VK044-H1. That's not the case for Splinter Cell. I don't have the full list of BC disc IDs from Xbox either, so this is just a theory, a game theory =p

Far as I'm aware you can buy the disc, when you insert it in your Xbox One it will download a digital version of the game & allow you to play it when that's done, I've only ever installed one BC game from disc a while ago so can't really remember if it
gave me the option to play before that process finished.
