Can't play any online games, connected to xbox live though.

Ever considered getting one of the many small travel routers to use in the hotel etc.? They are inexpensive and can connect to the hotel's wifi then provide your own personal hotspot. You then connect your laptop, phone, etc. to it to login/authenticate
as is usually required by the hotel. You should then be able to connect the One to your travel router and get Internet without using alternate MAC to clone your phone etc. You will not be able to get open NAT but likely would not on a hotel network anyway,
even without the double NAT created by the travel router.

 

I have been getting an open NAT the whole time I've been here. And also, don't you still have to hardwire the router to connect??

There are other options as well like having the hotel add my Xbox's MAC address to their network so I don't have to accept their terms. I also brought my personal laptop up so I could do the MAC address process a little backwards and switch my laptop's MAC
address to my Xbox's, accept the terms on my laptop, then switch back.

It's gotten to the point now, though, where I'm just mad that they refuse to do anything about it. I should HAVE to do all of that stuff above because it was working just fine before the update. And Xbox Support REFUSES to believe it has anything to do with
their update.

J Dub, no, you can get travel routers that support multiple modes, including bridge mode. This connects to the hotel's wifi then creates its own wifi on with an SSID and settings you specify.

I am very surprised you are getting open NAT in a hotel. Either the hotel has a fairly simple wifi network and working UPnP, or it is being erroneously reported as open.

 

I may have to try that... But still, the point is that Xbox Support isn't even trying to help.

It's very frustrating.

 

Try this

Step 1: Take an ethernet cable and plug one end into your Xbox One, and the other end into your Computer.

Step 2:

For Windows 8: Go to the Control Panel by pressing Windows Key and Q at the same time, and searching for the Control Panel in the provided search box.

For Windows 7: Go to the Start Menu and click Control Panel.

Steps here on out will be the same.

Step 3:

Once in the control panel on either OS, click on the Network and Internet Tab, then click on View Network Status and Tasks. This will lead you up to a menu that shows you two connections, one being the ethernet connection to your Xbox One, and the other
connection being your actual Internet connection. On the Lefthand side, you will see 3 options. Click the one that says "Change Adapter Settings".

Step 4

You will be shown multiple adapters in this menu, (Bluetooth, Wireless, Ethernet, Etc) Rightclick whichever adapter your internet connection is and click Properties.

Step 5

On the tip top of this window, you will see two tabs, Networking, and Sharing. Click the Sharing Tab.

Step 6

In the Sharing menu, you will see two checkboxes. Check both of them.

Step 7

Restart your Xbox One (Unplug the power cord from the back too).

Step 8

Run the connection wizard from the settings menu on the Xbox One for one last time. Boom! Connected!

 

I'm not sure how this would help? We ARE connected to Xbox Live. We have no problem actually connecting. So when I run the connection tests in network settings, everything comes back as normal.

The problem is when you try to connect to a game's online server, it doesn't recognize that you are connected to Xbox Live.

 

try playing after the above steps are done

 

It should resolve the issue because it will use the pcs/laptops internet connection basically and if the pc has full connectivity then everything is allright as a side solution for the time being.

 

Just a update .... Got the preview beta this morning and no change

 

Another update I spoke with a rep on the private forums and said it was other issues other then the update but on the flip side GameStop will give you 450 for trading in towards a ps4 but I don't want to go that rout because it's gonna be a awful hit

 

Just so everyone knows...Bought a brand new XBOX ONE..I have been travel nursing, so i am staying at an extended stay hotel. Could hook up my laptop, but not my ONE. Called MicroSoft, said bc hotels use proxies. So I downloaded the app Connectivity HotSpot
on my laptop. Very easily made my own hotspot. Was able to download the updates. The only problem was I couldn't play any multiplayer, as well as TitanFall. Read this thread, cleared the MAC address, ONE restarted...Now I have been playing non-stop, including
multiplayer! Thanks to this thread...thanks all!
