Can't play any online games, connected to xbox live though.

Thanks for this... This is DEFINITELY what is happening to me as well. I'm going to share this video with @XboxSupport on Twitter to show them exactly what is happening. They always seem to be confused as to what I'm talking about.

So Xbox Support is basically telling me there's nothing they can do which is complete bull. They said I can talk to the hotel admin to try to get them to help. I travel a lot for work and I can't do that every single time I travel to a different hotel. And
what happens if the hotel won't cooperate??

They aren't listening to the problem at all... They keep saying there's not much they can do without access to the network. But this has nothing to do with the hotel's network... That's obvious because other people are having the same problem after the update.

I'm going to keep trying to get them to realize it's a problem on their end and not mine. But I'm not holding my breath. Maybe if we get more and more people to call in with this problem, it will help them realize.

We'll I just received a invite to the xbox one beta so I'll see when they send me something that to download if that fixed it

 

I hate this Microsoft guys, i will wait for the next update, if this issue is not fixed i will sell my xbox and going back to sony again.

I'm going home this weekend and will try some stuff there... I'm going to first connect regularly without the alternate MAC address. I have a feeling it will work fine. Then I'm going to try to use an alternate MAC address on my home network and see if this
same problem comes up. That will definitely pin down what it is.... Even though I'm pretty sure I know what it is.

And then I'm going to call Xbox Support and *** them out if I have to... Just because this problem affects a small amount of people, that doesn't mean they shouldn't fix it.

 

I have had the same issue since the update. This is a bug that showed up after the update last week. It has nothing to do with Hotel or College connections. I'm on my home internet and have the same issue when using an alternate MAC address. Microsoft for
now seems to have no interest in fixing this bug as I have spent countless hours speaking with support and have had no success. There is no setting or fix for this. Only a patch from Microsoft will correct this alternative MAC address issue. This sucks because
when I am out on the road, my only solution is to use my 4G data to be able to play multi-player games. Hopefully Microsoft will get enough feedback on this and fix it. Don't expect a speedy resolution to this...............

 

Same problem as all of you I call they say it's my network it's not at all where I live has free internet been using it since the 360 and since the launch of the x1 was online playing update came threw bam can't connect to servers which totally wasted prob
15 hours of research and phone calls, Restoring etc

 

Such bull why touch something that do need fixing same issue over here

 

Alright here's the update....

I went home, tried some stuff on my home network and it does the exact same thing. This is definitely some sort of issue with the newest update, but Xbox Support REFUSES to believe that. While I was home, I contacted support again and told them that it HAD
to be because of the update. He basically refused to believe it and said there wasn't much he could do and that I should talk to the hotel's technical support to have them add my MAC address as an approved address. I said that I shouldn't have to do that because
it was working just fine before the update (not to mention it's a huge hassle because I travel a lot and I would have to do that with EVERY hotel I go to).

He basically just kept saying there's nothing he can do so I just hung up.

I'm back at the hotel now... I'm going to call tomorrow and just *** about it until they escalate the problem. If they don't help me at all, I'm going to ask for a supervisor. This is really frustrating...

I think we need to have everyone who can call Xbox and complain about this issue so it shows up on their radar.

 

Also, if any of you are able to use a wired connection, that will fix the issue... even if you are using an alternate MAC address. I, unfortunately, don't have access to a wired connections so I can't use that method.

 

Welp, just spent over an hour and a half chatting with someone from support and they came to the conclusion that I needed to open ports on my router... What a waste of my *** time.

THAT'S NOT THE FREAKING ISSUE...

And it's not something I can easily do with a hotel network...

Whatever... I'm pretty *** that Microsoft is refusing to help with this. I paid a lot for my Xbox, my games and my Xbox Live.
