    Can't play 360 games on my Xbox One S


    So I found out that games such as Black Ops and the original DOOM series are backwards compatible with the Xbox One. However when I go to the store to purchase them it tells me I have insufficient funds and it changes my region to the UK, I'm in Canada.
    So I tried buying them on disk and I was told that would work, it didn't. It seems the Xbox One S I purchased isn't backwards compatible, since I've tried various methods for various games and yet my system cannot play 360 games. And when changing my payment
    methods (which it wants me to do when I try to purchased them on the store) it changes my country.... Does anyone understand why my console will not play 360 games, yet everyone I know else's will?

    Got to xbox to play 360 games and 2 live memberships and can't even play, wasted of money

    Where did the Xbox 360 games come from? Another Xbox 360?

    If they were downloaded via an Xbox One/Series console you can't play these games on an Xbox 360. Firstly the drive wouldn't be configured for an Xbox 360. Secondly, Xbox 360 games downloaded via an Xbox One or Series X|S are actually 360 games that have been converted to run on an Xbox One, they are no longer native Xbox 360 games.

    Yes, absolutely. You can also play BC 360 games with users who are still playing on Xbox 360.

    All Xbox One games (but not kinect games) will work on on Xbox Series X/S and you can play these games with others even if they haven't yet bought the latest console.

    every Xbox 360 and or Xbox one game you can play via backwards compatibility on your series X/S share the same multiplayer network, so yes you can play those games with your friends across different generations of Xbox. However for future games releasing
    on Xbox one and series X/S separately, I can't confirm that it will work a 100%.
