Cant open snap or home

I recently opened the GAME DVR app on my xbox one console and ever since i have not been able to open xbox home and/or snap menu. I have to turn off my console to even go to the home. Ive tried to use the smartglass app on my phone and it still does not
work. Any help?

How to Use Snap

Snap allows Xbox One users to open multiple panes in a single window, allowing you to do things like watch TV and play a game simultaneously.

1. To use Snap, press your Xbox button to go to the Home screen.
2. Next go to the box labeled "Snap", which will open a snap sidebar inside your main window.

Do keep in mind that using Kinect you can simply say "Xbox Snap" or "Xbox Snap (insert app)" and it will work just the same. One example would be "Xbox Snap ESPN" or "Xbox Snap Internet Explorer"

3. Next select the app that you want to Snap from the list that pops up. (This will open the app in a side window.)
4. To close a Snapped app, simply return to the home screen and select Unsnap. Likewise on Kinect simply say "Xbox Unsnap"

To switch between a Snapped app and the main app or to control one over the other, use the Kinect Command "Xbox switch" or you can go to the Home Screen with the controller and switch between them. I find the best (easiest) way is to "double tap" the Xbox button to switch between them without having to go to the home screen or talk to your Kinect.

No friends party messages etc

I'm really not sure what's been going on or how long this is been but when I push left from the home it dims like it's going to open the snap and then does nothing tried hard reset and unplugging didn't do anything can't open messages or party from home
button when invited. Someone please help.

Try doing a hard reset on your console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
Once it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!

Say "Xbox Unsnap," or go the home screen and unsnap it by selecting the snapped twitch and pressing the menu button to open up options.

Another thing I would like to see happen is the Achievements App to snap so you don't have to go to your home page for it to open.

Ok, here is the deal.

I accidentally pinned a snapped version of Edge from snap an app, and even doing settings to full screen and pinning it to home screen - it will behave like a snapped version causing a docked sidebar.

So solution was to select the Edge app from Games n apps instead - and it opens as a standalone full screen browser.

I had no idea there were this kind of difference between the apps.
