Can't move GT to free Microsoft account

I'm trying to do some account shuffling for 2 of my GamerTags as described in this article but I'm having a small issue.

To start, I have this set up like step 2 in the article:

Oozy GorillaOozy Email

I Fastforward IFast Email

-3rd Email

I then move Oozy to the 3rd Email so I have this set up (step 3 in the article):

-Oozy Email

I Fastforward IFast Email

Oozy Gorilla3rd Email

Now, this is where I'm having problems. When I try to move I Fastforward I to the Oozy Email, I get an error stating the Oozy Email already has an account associated with it which isn't true because I just changed it. I've gone to Xbox.com and signed in
with both the Oozy Email and the 3rd Email and both show they have the GT Oozy Gorilla profile associated with the account

No where in the article does it say that you have to wait to transfer the second gamertag to the first email in the 3rd step like you do for moving the first gamertag back to the 2nd email in the 5th step.

Is there something I'm missing, or do I have to wait 30 days to move I Fastforward I to the Oozy Email?

:)

Delete an old gamer profile?

lol. It's not Microsoft's fault that you changed gamertags. You can move this account off of the Microsoft Account to another one. Create the new one at signup.live.com, then go to Settings -> Account -> Account Security on this gamertag and select Change
Microsoft Account. Then this MSA will be free.

IIRC on PSN you can't change the e-mail attached to an account period.

Hey Spark! OK, so it sounds like that new Microsoft Account now has a GT attached to it. We need to move onto an account without any GT on it yet. Does that make sense? You may need to make another Microsoft Account to move it onto- there's not a way to
remove a GT except to move the GT on to a different account. Make sense?

If I recall correctly, you need to wait the 30 days to complete the transfer. Sorry.

The reason I'm confused is it doesn't say anywhere that you have to wait 30 days until, in my case, the Oozy Email releases the Oozy Gorilla tag so I can use the email with a different GT. I would think somewhere it would say the entire process takes 60
days.

gamertag 1 is the email you want

gamertag 2 is the gamertag you account you want to move it to

well typically you don't move a gamertag 1 to more then one account

first you free an account with the email you want with the one you created

that frees it up

then you use the email you want on the gamertag 2

so unless you are swaping two emails between two accounts you do have to wait the 30days on one of them

I have 2 Xbox Live accounts and 3 Emails. Based on the article, I have everything I need to swap these GamerTags. I want Fastfoward with Oozy's email and with Fastforward's email. I'm following the steps in the article I linked exactly but when
I get to step 3 it doesn't work like the article says. Basically, what I have now is the Oozy Gorilla GamerTag associated with the original email AND the new email I created to swap the 2 accounts and it should only be associated with the 3rd email.

I'm I understanding this correctly? Either there's a misunderstanding or I'm reading these steps wrong.

According to the support article for this issue, if I'm reading it correctly, you do need to wait 30 days. Look closely at item 5...

I have read and reread the article multiple times. I have a fairly good grasp of the steps. I'm not at step 5. I'm at step 4. When I attempt to move Fastfoward to the Oozy Email, it tells me there is already a gamertag attached when there isn't because
I just moved Oozy Gorilla to the 3rd email address. I do NOT get the "Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now." that you should get as noted in the "Notes:" section if you do step 5 before 30 days have past.

I have tried moving Fastforward to both the Oozy Email and the 3rd Email and both say they have an account attached; they both have Oozy Gorilla. I can log into Oozy Gorilla with both the Oozy Email and the 3rd email on both the website and when I download
the profile on the Xbox 360.

I'm certain this isn't an issue where I'm trying to move the same account within 30 days. I understand I will have to wait 30 days to move Oozy Gorilla again to the Fastforward Email. I'm trying to move 2 different accounts 1 time. I Fastforward I has not
moved Microsoft accounts in the last 8 years, let alone the last 30 days. That isn't the problem. The system is stuck and has the Oozy Gorilla gamertag associated with 2 different Microsoft accounts thus not allowing me to move Fastforward to the email originally
associated with Oozy Gorilla.

I've successfully completed Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3. The system will not allow me to do Step 4 because it thinks the account I moved Oozy Gorilla from still has Oozy Gorilla attached to it. Nowhere in Steps 1 through 4 does it say I would have to wait
30 days or ANY amount of time, period, before the Oozy Email is available for a new GamerTag to be moved to it.

I don't mind too much if I have to wait 60 days before I can get to and complete Step 6. If that is the case, however, what is really annoying about the whole thing is that there is no where in the article saying that that is the case.

I'm starting to think this is probably something more complicated than forum help can alleviate.

Well, I tried a few more times to switch I Fastforward I to the Oozy Email and now I'm getting the "Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now." error. Now, like I mentioned above, Fastforward has always been on the same Microsoft account so
I shouldn't be seeing the error at all.

At this point, it appears that I'll have to wait 30 days. I don't know why I have to since I've never moved Fastforward to or from an other Microsoft account but at least there's a definite plan of action now.

Resolve the error "The Microsoft account you're switching to is already linked to another Xbox account"

If you try to switch your Xbox Live gamertag (or Xbox Music tag) from one Microsoft account to a different Microsoft account that's already linked to another Xbox Live gamertag, you'll get the following error message:

The Microsoft account you’re switching to is already linked to another Xbox account.

Before you can switch your gamertag in this case, you must first remove the existing gamertag from the Microsoft account you want to use. Here's how:

1. Consider the following scenario:
• Gamertag A is linked to Microsoft account 1.
• Gamertag B is linked to Microsoft account 2.
In this scenario, your gamertag is Gamertag B, and you want to move it to
Microsoft account 1.
2. At accounts.live.com, create a new Microsoft account. You'll only need this account as a temporary means of moving your gamertags.

Example:
• Gamertag A is linked to Microsoft account 1.
• Gamertag B is linked to Microsoft account 2.
• Microsoft account 3 is free.
3. Switch the gamertag that's linked to the Microsoft account you want to use to the Microsoft account that you created in Step 3.
• Microsoft account 1 is now free.
• Gamertag B remains linked to Microsoft account 2.
• Gamertag A is now linked to Microsoft account 3.
4. Switch your gamertag to the Microsoft account that you want to use.

Example:
• Gamertag B is now linked to Microsoft account 1.
• Microsoft account 2 is now free.
• Gamertag A remains linked to Microsoft account 3.
5. To complete the switch of gamertags between the two original Microsoft accounts, you must wait 30 days. After 30 days, switch Gamertag A from Microsoft account 3 to Microsoft account 2.
• Gamertag B remains linked to Microsoft account 1.
• Gamertag A is now linked to Microsoft account 2.
• Microsoft account 3 is now free.
6. Cancel the Microsoft account that you created in step 2.

Example:
• Gamertag B is now linked to Microsoft account 1.
• Gamertag A remains linked to Microsoft account 3.
• Microsoft account 3 is cancelled.
Notes

• When you change to a new Microsoft account, the current funds in your original Microsoft account do not transfer to your new Microsoft account.
• You can move a gamertag to a different Microsoft account only once every 30 days.
• This includes new gamertags downloaded from Xbox Live.
• If you try to move a gamertag before 30 days have passed since the last time you moved it, you’ll get the following error message:

Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now.
• To change the Microsoft account associated with a child account, you must provide the Microsoft account information for the adult account that has parental control.
• You can choose to require input of your Microsoft account password to sign in to Xbox Live. For more information on how to do this, see

Password protect your Xbox Live profile
