Can't mod gear. Why?

    Can't mod gear. Why?


    Anyone have any idea why I am getting lots (about 20) mods for gear, but cannot mod any of my gear. I don't mean weapons, I've modified tons of them. I can mod my backpacks, armor, gloves, etc. I'm level 15, and my gear is mostly, blue, some green and
    one purple, but I can;t mod any of it. Anyone have an idea what I'm missing/doing wrong? Any help would be great. Thanks!!

    the item level of the gear you salvage determines what crafting materials you will get. Not the mode itself.(normal, nightmare, ect)

    Salvaging the gear you find in normal mode will only be good for crafting gear thats around the same level of gear you would find in normal mode. Level 1-30 or so.

    In nightmare, the gear that drops are higher level, so the crafting items you get from salvaging the gear in nightmare mode will be higher quality crafting items, which aren't the same crafting items you get from crafting normal mode gear.

    So you are correct, those crafting items you have now in normal wouldn't amount to anything for crafting gear to use in nightmare. BUT, you can craft the higher quality crafting materials using the lower quality crafting items.

    Certain pieces of gear can be modded. You just have to check if they can be. When you notice the X button lit up, then it can be modded. Weird thing is, some blues can be modded, while others cant. I think the same is true for superior(purple) gear also.

    That's kind of what I was thinking but wasnt sure. Odd thing is literally every piece I have cannot be modified. Just thought it was odd is all. Thanks!!

    You start getting better gear that have mod slots around level 20.

    This is why I love playing Gears so much. No one ever cries about modding or cheating.

    Most people get banned from Gears of War 3 online play because they modded their achievements on Gears of War 2. Is there a reason why you are hiding your previous games played and achievements?

    Return it and get a non-modded console. Mods are not allowed on Live which is why you can't use it online.

    ya that's why in gears 3 they had at least 50% modded hammerburst. never saw anyone get banned for that

    just wait till the xbox one gears comes out. it will be bad unless they totally get rid of the hammerburst
