Can't map left or right stick up to any other button

Hi

So I recently purchased the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller for the xbox series x. Really liking how I can map most buttons, however when it comes to mapping the sticks there is no option to do this. I can map other buttons to the sticks, for example change A to be left stick up, but I cannot then map the sticks (left stick up to be A). There is no option to do this.

Just wondering if this is going to be fixed in the future?

The only reason I bought this controller was because I play a game where sprint is left stick click and this wears your thumbs out after a while playing, so want to change it to left stick up instead, that way less button pressing. I have previously made this change in some games that allow for this type of button mapping and had no issues (bf1).

Also an option to have the button "always pressed/on" would fix the issue.

I'm sorry to say, but at the moment it is not possible to modify the sticks in that way by default.

Hi Beau,

I don't think it's possible at this moment to map the right or left sticks to assign them to specific buttons. What you can do is map clicking in the right stick into press Right Trigger. But the only customization with the sticks are swapping the left and the right, or inverting the Y axis.

I don't personally own the adaptive controller, but trying these settings with the Elite Series 2 controller does not allow me to do so. If there are any more questions, please let me know.

I don't use the right stick on any other game so can't tell, I only play Forza apart from this which uses the left stick.

The controller is only designed to have controller functions remapped to the paddles. For instance I remapped left stick down to the left front paddle and same with right stick down. I never have to push down on a stick while also doing something. I
do not believe there is every any mention of mapping function that are not done on the controller to the paddles/buttons. You can have two different mappings and switch between them with a switch if you for instance want one mapping for regular flight and
a different mapping for landing etc.
