    Can't Manage Game DVR Captures, 0x87c40156


    This particular problem has been occurring for the last couple of months but only consistently for the last week or so. I go to Game DVR - View All Captures, then it loads for a few minutes and states "Something went wrong". Error code 0x87c40156.
    Now this happens every time I try and access my captures, I can't manage them at all! I've been through all of the trouble shooting steps with Al from Microsoft support: restarting, holding the power button for 10 seconds, quitting the app, signing out, clearing
    persistent storage under Disc and Blu Ray settings, alternate mac restart, redownloading my profile and finally factory resetting the Xbox. It'd be great to hear back ASAP as I don't want to lose the great moments that I’ve recorded with friends!

    Game DVR won't play/upload

    My game DVR evidently has not been recording for over a month. Recently attempted to view captures and gave me a 0x87c40156 code. On the Xbox phone app I can view my captures from around a month or two ago, but none show up from recent captures.

    Hey SnuggleWuffles! How are you accessing the game DVR? Is it through your notifications, activity feed, or are you selecting Game DVR and viewing all clips from there? Post back and let me know!

    Hi Mister Cizl!! I'm accessing the DVR through my games and apps, i can see the captures through activity feed and notifications though but i can't get to managing them at all no matter which of those three ways i use!

    Actually nevermind, if i choose a capture using my xbox, select my profile/social then captures and select the capture there's an options bar which lo and behold has a delete option inside. I feel like such an ***, sorry.

    Hello, I am here to discuss about my error code problem. When I loaded up the Game DVR app, the screen showed this error code:
    0x87c40156. When I changed the captures from screenshots to game clips I was able to view them instead. Not sure why I can't view my screenshots but I hope you'll investigate on this issue. Thank you.
