Can't make Xbox Live Gold purchases

I'm trying to buy a $1 xbox live gold subscription and when I try to, it keeps saying "We can't make this purchase right now" Even though I have almost $2 on my microsoft account balance. And I have a credit card linked up to it as a "backup" even when I
already have more money on my microsoft balance to pay for it. I know theirs some sort of problem because I remember last time I bought a $1 xbox game pass it actually worked without a credit card and with just my microsoft balance. Any ideas why this is happening
or even a fix this?

Thanks for coming to the forums for help. I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. Have you tried performing a power cycle on you Xbox? A power cycle can be completed with the following steps:

Press the Xbox button
to open the guide.
Note Pressing the Xbox button
will open the guide from any other screen on the console.
Select Settings.
Select Restart console.
Select Yes to confirm.

Its for new customers only so if you have it already you cant buy it I'm afraid.

Xbox Live requires a credit card on file so double check rhe credentials.

Is the credit card a valid cause that happened to me come to find out my card info was and expired card and not my new one
