Can’t make my xbox my home xbox even when i have switches left

Should be noted it's not 5 per calendar year

You only get 5 back once a year since the last switch happened

Otherwise you only get one switch once a year passed after each and every of the previous ,5 switches occurs

Hello Amirata, have you tried resetting the console while keeping the games or deleting everything? By doing this, the first account to be placed on the console will be the primary account.

Press the Xbox button to open the dashboard.

Select System > Settings > System > Console Information

Select Reset Console.

Restore and keep my games and apps.

Don't worry, you won't lose any games or saves.

Note:

- You need to know the email and passwords of your accounts when performing this reset.

I am literally having the same exact problem. Word for word what Nick said. I’m currently without internet so I tried to switch my Xbox to “home Xbox” by using a personal hotspot. It said 0/5 changes left then I disconnected from the hotspot and reconnected. It then said I have 5/5 changes, but when I tried to make this Xbox my home one it said “can’t save changes”. It now shows I have 0/5 changes again even though I’ve haven’t changed this year. What is going on? I just want to play my game offline.

No. As stated here:

Customer support can’t offer additional switches. If you’ve made five home Xbox switches for the year and you need assistance, select Help when
you see the message Can’t make this your home Xbox. You may be eligible to receive an exception.

If you don't have that exception you will have to wait until the limit resets.
