    Can't make a purchase with my microsoft account balance?


    I want to purchase a game and I have credit on my microsoft account. when I go to purchase the game i choose change payment method as I dont want to use my debit card. but the microsoft account option is greyed out. what am i doing wrong please

    CAN'T USE PAYPAL WHEN USING YOUR MICROSOFT ACCOUNT!!!

    GG it doesn't even give me the option to add my debit card to make a purchase, which is strange in itself because DC's are the standard payment option in the UK, but back to my main point why can't I use my paypal account in conjunction with what money I
    have in my Microsoft account to make a purchase?

    Cannot make in-game purchase with Microsoft Account balance

    When I try to make an in-game purchase in World of Tanks for Xbox 360, using a combination of my Microsoft Account balance plus a credit card or PayPal, I get error status code 801908843.

    If I make a purchase with just a credit card, it works. If I make a purchase with Microsoft Account plus credit card, it fails.

    are you buying from xbox.com or the console if your using the website you can only use a CC or Paypal at the moment the site is not configured for currency on your file you have to use the console for the time being.

    i try to use the console but the microsoft account is greyed out, but i just tried and it seems i can still buy stuff using console with the microsoft account

    You need to do this from the console.

    That said: is the amount in your Microsoft Account (MSA) enough to cover the purchase on its own?

    The MSA needs to have enough to be selectable - this means it also needs to be able to cover sales tax which, if you're in the US, does not get applied until later.

    If it's not enough, you need to select another payment option. Then when you confirm that one, it will ask you if you first want to charge the purchase to the MSA. It will empty the MSA and charge the remainder to the chosen, secondary payment method.

    I'm having the same problem except the "Microsoft Account" option is not even there. Its not greyed out, it is just missing. When I go to the billing website it shows $0 account balance at first. If I navigate to a different page it switches to the correct
    amount of $6. On my console however, there is no way to use my MS account on a purchase of any kind (more or less than the item price). I have contacted support and now I must wait for someone higher up to get back to me. Very frustrating as I've used my MS
    account for purchases many times and this has never been an issue.

    Im having this problem but i can select the account payment option. when i go to cofirm purchase it says there was an error. Does anyone know how to fix this.

    Yes, I was trying to make the purchase on the website. How am I supposed to know that I can't use my MS account balance on the website? Not everyone stalks the forums before making a purchase!

    The website was more than happy to accept the prepaid code!

    If I can't make purchases on the website with my MS account balance, it should

    #1 - clearly state that I can't use MS account balance to pay for purchases via website

    AND

    #2 - it shouldn't accept the prepaid card code on the website!

    Now how do I use the MS account balance?

    Microsoft account balance. It’s asking for another method of paying

    I have been trying to use my Microsoft account to purchase items in my game. I have never had issues before. Now, when I try to make a purchase it doesn't even list my Microsoft account as an option, only Amazon Pay or PayPal or pay by credit card. I have more than enough money in my Microsoft account to make these purchases. My Microsoft balances have been expiring since I can't use them to make any purchases.
