Can't log onto Xbox Live as security blocks it even after updating security

Hi, basically after not using my Xbox 360 account(My Xbox One account is fine) i logged back onto Xbox Live and

i get a message about security asking if i can access a phone number. After updating both the number, email adress and

getting a security code, i was told i would have to wait till January 10th for it to take place. However

I still get the security error whilst trying to log onto Xbox Live. I have a Gold Membership and games that can

only be played online so i can't use them anymore.

Xbox one GWG download problem

I've put xbox live on for 1st time in few months to get thief but even though the price is 0 it's asking me for credit card details. And xbox.com not letting me download it because it needed me to update security details now that's blocked it for a month until it updates.

By time it updates it will be to late

Hey, so you said the password works. Can you still log into that account through xbox.com? If so you could try updating your security information there and see if that helps.

If I select the option to have my Xbox 360 remember my log-in password I am able to bypass the "Add Security" log-in prompt and connect to the Xbox LIVE service without any problems, even after signing out, powering off or restarting the console. The "Add
Security" log-in prompt simply disappears which is excellent. However, If I navigate to my account/security settings on my console and request to be asked for a password the "Add Security" log-in prompt reappears in all of its glory as described above. I am
not sure as to whether this is the normal two-step verification and application password log-in screen for Xbox LIVE?

For security reasons though I do want to be asked for a password when signing in to Xbox LIVE, having my password remembered on my console defeats the object of security, but if this is how the system is technically designed to work with two-step verification
enabled and the use of application passwords so be it. I will have no choice but to have my log-in credentials remembered on my console.

Again, any feedback in regard to this matter would be much appreciated.

Hi there, have you tried logging into the account through xbox.com on the PC? Sometimes the security update will block you from logging on the Xbox, but not the PC. If you can follow this link and click 'Manage your security info' and sign-in to update and
verify your proofs:
support.xbox.com/.../security-proofs

After that delete your profile from the console (profile only), clear the system cache 3 times. Restart the console and re-download the profile.

i am having an issue logging onto Xbox live. First it asks me to update my security. Asks me my email and password. Then, when everything I have entered is correct, it says "sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Code:00000000

Why?
