  1. Can't log in to Live, Dashboard slow


    When starting up, dashboard takes a very long time to load, and I can't sign in to Xbox Live, meaning I can't access cloud saved games. Network access in general is fine (e.g. downloaded a game update after clearing the cache, other devices on same network
    work fine). Here's what I tried

    1. Clearing the xbox cache
    2. Starting with HDD removed. This gave a fast (normal speed) startup. After re-inserting the HDD, the startup speed is fine until trying to connect to Live
    3. Deleting synced cloud storage locally
    4. Deleting recently downloaded game updates
    I see that others are having problems today, so I assume this is an Xbox Live problem?

    How do I get this update?

    I've been having the same error. I can log into Live perfectly fine on the dashboard, but when it comes to the game, I just can't connect to live.

  3. Xbox 360 Issue HELP!

    The other day, I was on my Xbox 360 and tried downloading the WWE Network app when my console froze. I restarted the system and logged back into my Xbox Live account and now every time I do log back in, my system freezes on the dashboard. It only does this when I log into my Xbox Live account. If I skip login, I do not have any issues.

    Could someone help me please?!

    OK, had a long chat with MS support, seems my internal hard drive is corrupted. To check whether you have same problem:

    1. Remove your 250 GB hard drive (or whatever your size is) Install Xbox 360 Hard Drive | Remove Xbox 360 Hard Drive - Xbox.com
    2. Start up the console
    3. Skip the live update if necessary
    4. Go to Settings > System > Storage
    My console said "No storage devices found". This prompted the service rep to create a support case for me to return the xbox for repair. In my case, it's in warranty. You can check if yours is too by registering it on https://myservice.xbox.com

  9. Seems my edit to the above post did not get saved properly. By "internal hard drive" I mean the 4GB internal drive/memory unit.

  10. Further troubleshooting using my brother's xbox revealed the the 250GB drive is probably the real culprit, although MS support says the internal one is also corrupt. My 250GB HDD in his xbox gave the same problems, but his 250GB HDD in my xbox gave no problems.

    MS only gives 90 days warranty on the 250GB hard drive because it is an "accessory" (the console has a 1 year warranty); if you live in the EU you have a de facto 6 month warranty through the "presumption" rule that requires the reseller to prove that the
    HDD was *not* faulty at the time of purchase. You should then contact the reseller, not MS. If your drive is not covered by warranty you may want to reformat the drive. Transfer any savegames etc. that can not be redownloaded to another storage (cloud or USB
    drive) first, although cloud may be unavailable due to the XBL sign-in problems.

    When I turn on my Xbox, it used to boot to the dashboard quickly. The booting process has been slower than usual over the weekend. I got disconnected from Xbox Live once during a gaming session and downloading stuff takes forever!

    The interesting thing is that I don't have any network issues on the Xbox One and my PC. I really don't want to mess with my router since most of my devices are working properly. I too am glad that I am not the only one in the boat!

    xbox 360 slim mw3 console slow boot up

    sometimes it just takes ages logging into xbox live. That can slow things down, especially with all the adverts and other crap that's on the dashboard these days.
