Can't Load Sims on PC EA Play

SimonClegg2, there are a couple of things we could try before reinstalling the game.

So, let's try this, first, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then, try to uninstall and install the Xbox app.

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command, then you're going to open the gamepass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again :

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

After these, check if it works, if it doesn't try to reinstall the game.

If neither of those procedures works, try to restore your PC's OS via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

There's some confusion here. Have you bought the Sims 4 for console or have you purchased it for use on your PC?

If you've bought it on the Microsoft Store with the intention of playing on PC you can't. Microsoft does not sell The Sims 4 for PC. You'll need a refund. If you want it for PC you need to buy it either via Steam (EA games are now sold there) or directly
from EA via the PC origin Store.

Yeah EA servers aren't very good. Every time I start the Sims 3, it always has trouble connecting to EA servers. Though Sims 3 is not multiplayer, the game uses EA servers for the Exchange part of the Sims 3. Imagine playing Sims 3 on PC. You have to download
EA Download Manager in order for updates and downloads for the game provided by EA. There are also compatibility issues with the game with a whole variety of PC's even newer ones but have no compatibility issues with the game on my console.

I loved the effort still how they brought The Sims 3 to Xbox 360. Lots of peps had issues of the game crashing on their PC's. If you can't play it on PC, you can play it on Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 version of Sims 3 is severely limited but still enjoyable.

The Sims 4 is not a Play Anywhere title and Play Anywhere does not work with physical discs. If you're trying to play on a PC, you would need to purchase the game for the PC or use EA Play.
