Can't load/play any digital or disc games on Xbox One S.

I am not able to play any games on my Xbox One S (500 GB). It was working fine earlier and then it stopped loading games. When I try to run a game, it goes to the loading screen for a few seconds and then it crashes and goes back to the home screen. This
happens with both digital and disc games.

Xbox is connected to Internet and the Xbox Live service is online.

Other apps, Netflix etc are working fine. Disc drive is working fine as I see a lot of 4K moves on it.

I have tried the following troubleshooting steps but none have worked so far.

1. Hard reboot.

2. Change the DNS from Auto to Manual.

3. Reset Xbox with both "Keep my games and apps" and a clean factory reset, deleting everything.

4. Restarted my modem/router

5. Test Muliplyer Connection - No packet losses, NAT Type: Open, Good download/upload speed, Latence: 60 ms

6. Xbox One offline system update (OSU).

Any help in figuring out and fixing this issue would be appreciated.

Yeah,the digital xbox one s is really aimed at first time buyers of this gen or people who have gone completely digital with their games.

If you have a load of disc copies of games that you want to play then paying a little more for a xbox one s with a disc drive would be cheaper in the long run if you factor in the cost of having to buy digital versions of the games you have on disc.

One S is digital only.... Using disc on my 'main' xbox, like playing games on 'spare' occasionally.

That would be why. When you buy a disc game, the disc is primarily used to prove ownership and so the disc has to be in the drive all the time you play the game. As the One S is digital only, you can't put the disc in thus the system does not recognise you own the game hence the purchase prompts.

Unfortunately, in order to play it on your One S, you will need to purchase the digital version of it

You have names mixed up. There are no consoles named the Xbox One Series S or Xbox One Series X.

The Xbox One/One S/One X all have a disc drive.

The Xbox One S All Digital Edition does not have a disc drive.

The Xbox Series X has a disc drive.

The Xbox Series S does not have a disc drive.

All the consoles can play backward compatible games. The Series S and One S all digital edition can only play games digitally downloaded.

The other consoles can play games from disc and from digitally downloaded,

The Xbox One S console has a disc drive, so games(both physical and digital) can still be played.

The Xbox One S All Digital console does not have a disc drive, therefore it can not play physical(disc) games. As there is currently no option to transfer physical(disc) games to digital, you would have to re-purchase the digital versions.

You can play any backward compatible 360 game on an Xbox One, provided you can either install it via disc like on the 360 (and the disc will need to be in the console in order to play the game), or you have purchased the 360 game digitally so you can download
it to the console.

If you purchased the all digital Xbox One S, you will need to purchase any 360 games digitally (even if you already own them on disc) in order to play them on that particular console.
