    Hello everyone, I'm unable to launch any games on the xbox app or through the Microsoft store because every time I get an error that pops up and says "The configuration registry database is corrupt." I'v been trying to play The Outer Worlds and just can't
    get it to launch. I have googled the problem but can't find anything that fixes the problem. I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

    I'm currently using Windows 10 pro, versions 1909, OS build 18363.778. I'v had this problem for the past 6-8 months now and have just refrained from playing microsoft games because I can't get any of them to launch.

    Hello, I managed to fix this by deleting an xbox live registry in windows, thus resetting the log in when trying to launch the game. The registry re-made itself when I started the game again and was able to log in.

    I have found a workaround with registries and such, but to launch it through the cmd it needs to be added in the applications window and I can't force it to be added there thus far.

    I encounter exactly the same issue

    i can't install new game since the last update of the xbox app for windows 10.

    I can launch some games but some games ask me to reinstall the gameservice, i try to do it but it's in error.

    So i find the solution by removing the entry of the gamingservices in the registry

    Open Registry Editor

    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Services

    Remove the GamingServices and GamingServices.Net

    Restart Computer

    Go to your Windows Store -> 3-dot-menu -> Downloads and Updates -> Check updates

    Gaming Services should install now without issue.

    Since that i can launch all my games and install new one!

    So apparently all my Gamepass games got uninstalled...and i cant reinstall, nor remove the icons from the Xbox app by any means.

    cccleaner has been known to mess with the registery to the point games will not work and it messes with gamepass registries which means you may have to clear the drive and redownload them all.

    i would not use cccleaner on windows 10 at all. there is actually no reason too.
