    Can't launch RDR2 and the console shuts off


    After a few minutes of RDR2, my console will turn off. I can turn it back on, but I've never gotten any error messages. I've restarted, done hard resets, wired in my internet connection, uninstalled and reinstalled
    the game, changed power cords, cleaned out the vents, deleted and retrieved my profile, reset my internet connection, nothing is fixing the problem. RDR2 is the only game this happens with. Help!

    We already paid the companies for these games and to not be able to play them is more than a little messed up. And just a few days before this people weren't able to play the backwards compatible games they purchased. Microsoft isn't a new company, they've
    been doing this for awhile but ever since this xbox one generation they have been tripping so nanm times and its the gamers that pay for it.

    Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to launch and play Red Dead. I can understand how this situation could be frustrating so I split your post into it's own thread. This way, we can tailor support for this issue's specific need.

    Now if you're having difficulty and you have already followed the steps here on

    Troubleshoot Xbox One unexpectedly turning off    , then I would suggest what we call a soft reset for possible resolution of the problem.

    It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

    Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
    will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

    Also make sure that you select the option denoted
    reset and keep my games and apps.

    Follow the steps here on How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One
    and let us know how that helps with the issue

    Sorry for the issue with your console turning off. Have you tried all the troubleshooting in the

    console turns off unexpectedly     guide? Some of the games mentioned are running with a lot more graphics and such. RDR2 was a big issue for a while with shutting down consoles. If the issue keeps persisting you may want to think of getting it repaired.

    Hitting the same issue here. Most times i can't even launch the game from the HUB. I have to launch it from the Apps & Games area but only after a complete power cycle. It's the only game that has ever randomly "Shut off" my console.
