Cant launch Persona 5 Royal in one of my PCs (error 88500000 Denuvo)

I am paying monthly my subscription to Gamepass Ultimate to be able to play those fantastic games and this is the first time I encountered it. How do I fix this? Uninstalling an re-installing the game didnt work, not even uninstalling Xbox app and installing it again.

The game works on my laptop but it doesnt in my desktop PC which is frustrating since is the device I use the most.

Error given is a Denuvo one 88500000 (I already know it is due to the game not being authenticated but c'mon I am playing it from the Xbox app using gamepass ultimate, why it wouldn't be able to launch? I am using internet connection why it doesn't authenticate)

you use win11 right? i can't play persona5 on win11 and have same your problem but win10 can play not problem

FIXED ERROR 88500000&I PERSONA 5 ROYAL

So I had the same error as op. I was playing the game last night and left it on the menu screen and dozed off. My laptop shutdown due to overheating. After that I was getting this same error whenever i tried to boot the game. (It was working just fine on my xbox).

Here's what I did to fix it.

1. go to the game's storepage on the Xbox app.

2. click on the three vertical dots next to the play / buy button.

3. click on manage.

4. select "Verify and repair game files".

It only took a min to fix this and I was able to successfully launch the game again.

edit: just read that OP tried it but it didn't worked for him. But hey, it did for me so i'll just keep this here for future folks.

I can suggest you other things to isolate the problem a bit more:

A. If you have an antivirus or similar software, please disable all the protections temporarily (or uninstall the software if you prefer)
Restart the PC and try again

B. Do a clean boot in your PC and try again

C. Can be a bit odd but if you have installed the game on a different drive than C: move the game to C: drive and try again

D. Create a new local administrator user in your PC and try from there
