    Can't launch Microsoft Games in "other games" section of Solitaire app.


    I upgraded from 7 to 10 yesterday.

    I opened Microsoft Solitaire collection, and was able to launch any of the Solitaire games fine. Within the Solitaire app I clicked on Sudoku and downloaded it from the store. But when I open Sudoku, it starts to load, and then just closes. I check task
    manager and it is not running. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Same. I opened it from the Start menu rather than the solitaire app, same thing. I opened it from Store, same thing.

    I tried Microsoft Treasure Hunt. Same thing. It opens its loading window and starts to load, and then just exits itself.

    I can't launch any of the games in the "Other Games" section of the Microsoft Solitaire app. They all start to load, and then just exit themselves.

    Not able to connect to internet

    Microsoft Solitaire Collection - "Internet connection required" eventually shows up in event box although I can access Xbox site through clicking my avatar image at top of page. No other Internet access issues. Tried the reset button for the app in settings
    but still no connection after it completed.

    -I have searched for and taken all windows updates and restarted and there are no more windows updates to take.

    -I have updated my graphics drivers and verified it confirms it is up to date. (GeForce version 355.82)

    -I have no other accounts on this PC. This is the administrator account.

    Microsoft Solitaire Collection hangs on load screen

    I just finished working on this for a client. None of the usual suggestions (reset, data reset, reinstall, even DISM package removal and reinstall) helped at all.

    The solution turned out to be to install another of the Microsoft Casual Game Collection (I used Microsoft Mahjong), open it, then launch solitaire from the "other games" menu. It worked, and it fixed launching the solitaire app directly.

    Can't Log In (0x409) 0x80080005

    Same here. Different code (0x409) 0x80070422 but same problem. A few weeks ago the app was running great. Now I can't access to the xbox app on win10. Can't launch any of my games at all (solitaire, forza apex, minecraft,)...so the result is that it's impossible
    to enjoy any Microsoft games on my PC (core i7 3700k, GTX980ti 16gb ram) :(

    Why has Solitaire & Casual Games/Microsoft Solitaire Collection started crashing at launch?

    I looked at the linked solution, and it appears to be geared to Windows 10. I have Windows 11 Version 22H2, and I can't seem to find either the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter or a "Repair" option when I right-click Solitaire & Casual Games in the list of All Apps. Is there a Windows 11-specific method for troubleshooting this "crash when launching" issue with Solitaire & Casual Games?

    I did subsequently find the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter, which had me first restore User Account Control, then Repair, then Reset Solitaire & Casual Games. I attempted to launch Solitaire & Casual Games after each step, and still had the crash issue.

    I finally right-clicked on Solitaire & Casual Games in the Start Menu list of "All Apps," clicked App Settings, and then scrolled down (something I hadn't previously noticed was possible) to where I could click "Repair". After Repair, I left-clicked Solitaire & Casual Games in "All Apps," and it finally launched! I then had to click on the top right-hand corner of the app window to log in, and my previous progress was restored. Good to go now!

    Achievement list error

    I have seen similar issues (with other games) posted online. What seemed to resolve this for them was to launch the Games and/or Xbox Extras app then go to the Achievements section and have it refresh/update. I can't say whether or not this will help here,
    but it's worth a shot.
