Can’t launch KotOR II on Xbox One (0x82D40003)

Whenever I try to launch KotOR II (a game for the original XBox that I am using backwards compatibility to play), it basically tells me that I need to sign in with the account that purchased the game. I’ll just copy/paste my post from Reddit for more details:

I’ve had KotOR II for about a week now, but recently, it has just decided to not work on my Xbox One.

Yesterday, when I tried to start it, it gave me he error code 0x82D40003, and told me essentially that I am not signed in with the account that purchased the game. It is wrong, because the account I am signed in with is what I purchased the game with,
and it even shows up in my purchase history.

Yesterday, I was able to fix the problem by reinstalling the game. I thought that was the end of it, but then today it gave me the same error.

Suspiciously, these errors coincide with my brother starting to use this same Xbox. Perhaps that has something to do with it?

I don’t exactly want to reinstall the game every time I want to play KotOR II, so can someone either help me or direct me to a better place to ask this type of question?

You can try this is you haven’t yet resolved your issue,

Unplug the power cable from the back of the router for a minute. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices. Restart your Xbox One console. Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox One controller to
open the Power Center.

Select Restart console. Press and hold the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button on the console again to restart. After five minutes, plug the modem or gateway in
first and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state as well.

I’ve already done that twice actually. Yesterday reinstalling the game seemed to fix the problem but then it came back again today which is strange.

Thanks for trying to help but I am signed in with the account that made the purchase (it shows up in my purchase history) and that seems to be what the article says to do.

Try uninstalling the game and reinstalling

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
