  1. Can't launch half my Xbox Games


    As soon as I try to launch the game it pops up and says "Make sure your subscription is active. Looks like you need to renew a membership, such as EA Access or Xbox Live Gold. If everything is current, try quitting and relaunching the game. (0x803f800b)"
    I tried contacting support, and went through a handful of troubleshooting steps:

    1) Hard Reset -- Same result

    2) Tested Network Connection -- "Everything is good. Your console is connected to the Internet."

    3) NAT type -- Open

    4) Refreshed Console, profile, and Xbox Live. (Removed gamertag, turned off console, unplugged for ~5 minutes) -- Same result

    5) Reset console to Factory (but kept games and apps installed) -- Same result

    6) Set Xbox Live Privacy to Adult -- Same result

    7) Checked XBL status: Activated, and ends on May 17, 2018

    Games that won't launch (and get the 0x803f800b error):

    The Escapists,

    The Crew,

    Super Dungeon Bros,

    Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate,

    Ryse: Son of Rome,

    Super Mega Baseball,

    Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris,

    Project CARS,

    Layers of Fear,

    Defense Grid 2,

    Evolve

    Games that DO launch and work perfectly online and with parties:

    Rocket League,

    Halo 5,

    Cities: Skylines

    Support then said there was nothing more that could be done from their end because I'm in the Preview Program, and directed me to post here -- so that's where I'm at now.

    Someone help please?

    Hello Arthuro,

    Could it be the home console is not set right for the profile that has the games. You can visit setting up

    home console

    The games belong to an account that is also on my console, (account who was on my previous one)

    on my previous console, i was able to play the the games on my account

    I feel your pain. Spent an hour or more on chat with support, doing everything you described. This forum must be for us to complain, with no real solutions to come from it. Seems to be some glitch between EA and Xbox LIVE.

    I try launching Fable 3 now from my 16GB Sandisk USB now, and half of the time it says "Can't launch Fable III"

    When I finally get it to load it says my save is corrupt and it makes me start a new game?????

    Sorry to hear it. That's an odd issue after changing your tag. Please try deleting the tag from your console (make sure you remember your correct email/password) and then powercycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down. Then unplug the console and let it sit for 5 minutes.

    During this time unplug your modem/router for at least 60 seconds to clear any possible issues there. Once the internet is back up and running restart the console and add your gamertag. Your games will need a brief moment to resync to your account and you should be good to go.

    I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your Xbox Series X console.

    It's important to note that this is a public user-to-user community forum, and none of us here work for Microsoft.

    It is possible that the service outage may have affected other games as well but not yet included on the server status. If I may ask, have you tried to launch other games offline to see if it works?

    For us to isolate the case, kindly try to perform the following workarounds according to the official Xbox website: (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/troubleshooting/game-issues-solution)

    "Remove your account, power cycle, and re-add your account:

    Here's how to remove your account:

    > Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
    > Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.
    > Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

    Power Cycle:

    > Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    > Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

    Then re-add your account.

    Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
    Select Profile & System > Add or switch > Add new.
    Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.

    Note: Make sure that you do not select Get a new account unless you want to create a new Microsoft account.

    Enter the password for your Microsoft account, and then select Enter.
    Review the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select I Accept.
    Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In, security & PIN preferences to finish adding your profile to the console."

    Then launch the game Call of Duty Warzone to see if it works.
